There were thousands of Gods that were revered by mankind long before yours came along. Long before even a single person even heard of your God and some of these Gods most certainly were not the embodiment of love either. Hell, for that matter, neither is your God ...unless you are so uneducated on the bible that you don't know the first half of it at all, or just living in ignorant bliss within your misguided beliefs. Your God was so angry with his creation that he killed every man, woman, and child on the entire planet save for a couple of people on a boat far far too small to carry all the animals it is claimed to have. That isn't love, that is mass genocide of a level that far surpasses anything Hitler did. Hate to break it to you, but your God is a genocidal maniac and even if he was real... fuck that guy, he is a dick of epic proportions.

We are all hypocrites. We are humans with inherent evil. That is why socialism will never work (but I digress)

I can be an asshole just as much as I can be a saint. I am far from perfect, and none of us will ever be. However, that doesn't negate what I've been saying/my beliefs. I'm just aware.

The concept of original sin is Abrahamic is nature. I have to ask why you are so afraid to proudly state your beliefs. Let me guess, it is easier for you to argue behind a veil of secrecy?

Anyways, the concept of original sin has been completely invalidated by science. You might as well tell me the earth is 6000 years old while you are at it.

I may have falsely equated you as a follower of an Abrahamic religion (there are many) but that is only because you represented yourself as such. You did so again even after responding to my posts with this quote above by expressing your belief in original sin.

Note, I didn't mention Jesus in that wall of text you quoted either, so I not sure why you brought him back into the conversation other than you making the incorrect assumption that I am assuming you were Christian. You very obviously express some Christian values and express some Abrahamic based beliefs. Whether or not you identify with any religion or not is irrelevant to my comments and that is what you fail to see in entirety.

I don't care what your beliefs are. What I do care about is a specific set of religious beliefs giving preferential treatments through state sponsorship. What I do care about is religious ideology influencing government policy in a negative way.

I learned long ago that participation in, or even reading threads like this is a pointless, futile waste of otherwise productive time.

But just to pick nits, statements like that quoted above strike me as overstepping their bounds.

If "science" has no data point to represent a "God/god/deity" as an action-causing entity, and "sin" is generally referred to as something that violates the law of said supreme deity, then... is the concept of sin even germane to science?

Granted, you didn't say, "completely disproven," or "completely proven false," but you also could have said, "declared irrelevant to physical science" or something along those lines.

Just wondering if you wanted to clarify, defend, or cite references for the original statement.

But of course that make sense. It's a defense mechanism against being human, which some people inexplicably fear. The statement above about inherent evil is the same thing. "I'm just human" is okay. It is not a curse. It is not something to be feared or dealt with or lash out against others over.

Sorry OBX, but I dont hate Christians. Most of my family are devout Christians and I don't hate them. Most of my friends are Christians. They are good people. You confuse my comments as hating Christians just because I focused comments towards the God of Abraham. There is a difference between disliking a religion and hating the people. If I have wrongly accused of being a follower of the Abrahamic God, so be it, but you certainly have come across as one to me as you referenced it more than once.

Edit: My wife's entire family is Jewish and they are all good people as well. I certainly don't hate them and they cover another religion under the god of Abraham.
