The now famous Guitar shaped hotel is open. We went Friday night to check out Maroon 5 for the grand opening of the hotel and hard rock live. The venue is outstanding. Seats 6000+. The Casino, pool area and seeing the guitar lit up was amazing. Its like you are in a vegas resort.

They shelled out for it. I was hoping that I wouldn't have to shell out for tickets for shows.

Here is the opening song of the grand opening by Maroon 5. From the 150 dollar nose bleed seats! It is a very nice venue. Vegas comes to Hollywood. All they need is sports betting. I guess that is still illegal in Florida.

I've seen shows in the past in the "old" auditorium, arena whatever you wanna call it. The acoustics were always the worst ever. Did they build a new or redesign the old venue?

They spent 1.5 billion dollars on rebuilding. The worlds only guitar shaped hotel and casino. It is pretty spectacular. Google it, some cool vids and photos of it. I'm working on a compilation vid.

Adam Levine told everyone to stand up. "You're at a rock concert, stand up"

maroon 5 isn't a band I would choose to pay and go see but the wife pulled the trigger. Glad I went. They were entertaining band and I recognized a bunch of songs.

OK, if the band said to stand up... But if they tell me to clap and yell "hey" on their command like a trained dog, I ain't gonna do it!

You should go to more concerts . I'm gonna clap like a trained seal! My problem is that too FEW people stand up anymore - it's a concert, people! Pull out those lighters and DANCE! Then about halfway through I remember that I'm old and my feet hurt...

I used to do concert photography from the front row at tons of gen adm shows, packed so tight there was no room to mosh; almost got crushed at one. Been to and still go to a bunch, have tinnitus and some permanent hearing loss. I don't mind standing if I bought a GA ticket, but if I paid for a seat, I want to be able to use it, especially when my back hurts. And, oh yeah... You kids -- Get off my lawn!

Saw Jerry Seinfeld there last night. Awesome place overall, except the main casino (center of the general public space) allows smoking. They have non-smoking slot-machine rooms, but of no interest to me, since I don't gamble. The restaurants are far enough away to escape the smoke. Buffet was incredible. Auditorium acoustics were fine for a talk show, but it seems well-engineered to handle music. We were in the last row of nosebleed seats, spent more time watching the big screens than the actual performer. Egress from the top level was slow, because people leaving the lower levels blocked up every escalator and stairwell. I'd hate to be up there and in need of a fire exit! Cheapest rooms last night were $499, so we stayed at a cheap Ramada Inn across town. On non-event weeknights in the off season (June), there are rooms for $199, for which we might go back. Cool music memorabilia (guitars, costumes, photos) on every corner.

I saw Seinfield at the king center last year. Super funny.
