Darned Edward is in full bloom. Bloomed early a few years ago then a cold snap zapped all the bloom. Thing tried a second bloom, I think I picked maybe 4 that year. Here's hoping no cold snaps.

Sunday night is coming, still a ways off but it is predicting upper 30's for me in Palm Bay, so not to bad.
Only supposed to be 1 night, low in the 60's for Saturday night, then back to lows in the 50's for Monday night.

Yes, I noticed some of my mango breaking out in flower. Rosigold already has pea size developing fruit. The weather has been so nice lately I haven't even checked for a freeze in the future. But, Danger Mouse reporting possible Danger. Off to check forecast!

Predicted lows for Sunday night for Palm Bay are creeping up, now at 41. With a good chance of rain during the day Sunday as the front comes thru.
My Pickering, Irwin, NDM, Coconut Cream are all blooming or about to. Hadn't checked the Peach Cobbler, PPK or Lemon Zest, but they should be getting ready to push out buds.

Edward is +30 feet tall too much to protect. Funny-Keit & Jakarta have yet to show bloom.

Fertilize now?

No fertilizer or water now. Best time to fertilize mango is after fruit drop.

No fruit last year after hurricane and resulting heavy pruning. I fertilized in August

Is this good mango weather? Several of my trees have a bunch of blooms, hoping it all works out this year.

Colder, dry winters I think is what is needed...it was colder and drier than the last two years (i could be wrong), so I am guessing "Yes" finally a decent crop, last year was disappointing..all varieties are really flushing heavy, now to watch the green BB's form and pray they stay attached. Oh yea, tree rat (squirrel ) reduction is in full effect..Stats >>> Me - 3 / squirrels - 1 ...missed the shot)..They got 1/3 of the fruit last year, population has exploded due to neighbors feeding them...arggg!

The squirrels have been coming in from the neighboring yards and eating the flowers off my jack fruit trees and digging in the pots to bury their acorns. They don't venture to far into my yard, only messing with stuff 10 feet or so from the fence.

Rat Zapper and pecans is working. Had one in it when I got home from work yesterday, 30 minutes later another, one more about 1 hour later, another in it when I got home from work today and few hours later another.
