Had endoscopy today and waiting for some biopsies to come back. Dr found Gastric atrophy of my stomach lining and it sounds like it might be bad but don't want to trust Dr Google.
Anyone here familiar with it and is it treatable/healable/etc? Thanks in advance!

The first few links on Google usually provide news of fatality or general horror. It's smart to skip them and find a specialist.

1st, get a 2nd opinion. 3rd, think about changing your diet. My gastro doc just said you have IBS (irritable bowel syndrome) which in common speak means "We don't know why your gut hurts, you've got a bag-pipe hanging out ur ass and you sit on the crapper 4-6 times everyday". I changed my diet to interval fasting. No food from 8pm to 12 noon. Coffee, and physyllium husks are all i have in the morning now....I had to give up my YUGE breakfast and, heres the hard part, drinking beer everyday and to excess. This was not a suggestion from my doc only my idea and I lost 30lbs plus cured my IBS.......good luck, keep a log of your meals and you might find a common offender after a few weeks.

I found a forum on FB for it and many people have had luck with a diet called AIP.
I'm starting that as 99% of what I'm eating now is on the no no list.
Hopefully diet changes can make a world of difference!

Good on you!......but, be wary, don't jump on the 1st ship. if this has been on ongoing problem for you, a couple more weeks of research could help you help yourself. The diet you listed eliminates just about everything, which I'm sure will provide some benefits.....but, you could be cutting some things that you enjoy for no reason.

You will not be cured in 2 weeks, give it the same amount of time you knew there was something funky down there. 3-4 months?......

Seriously, keep a log or get an account on livestrong.com

livestrong has a "your plate" section that is so accurate that it is kinda scary. I was in Kazakhstan and eating Russian and Kazak foods. I would input the names and livestrong had the calorie, fat, carb amounts......etc well listed.

good luck, don't freak just yet.

Wishing the best for you. Saw JB the other night and he said you were getting scoped. dr. google says it is chronic inflammation. I suffer from that as well but mine is in the form of arthritis. Gotta stay healthy the best we can since we are all getting older.
