The dead period of the NFL calendar is officially over for the Miami Dolphins. Miami's slew of rookies are due in Davie today for their first day at the team facilities - signifying the start of Miami's 2019 training camp calendar.

The veterans are not due in house for another few days, the Dolphins' more experienced members are due to report on Wednesday, July 24th. The team will waste little time opening their doors to the public, as the Dolphins' first open practice takes place on Thursday, July 25th.

Jags reported today. Buccs on Thursday.

I don't have high expectations for the 'fins, but glad to see some news coming thru.

I find myself caring less and less about pro football and basketball. I have not watched an entire, non-playoff game of either of them in years and years.

I'm usually burned out by Sunday on football due to college football. Usually just have red zone channel on and keep tabs on it that way. But, Yes, I like college football better.

Love Richt and what he did at Miami but he killed any offense we had period. 10 win season two years ago. Bowl game. Million of his own donated to start up the Indoor Practice facility. Sucks the way it ended but he walked away at the right time. It got ugly last year (well every year) watching him try to orchestrate a very talented offense with no success. Outdated play calling with wishy washy decisions on who should be the leader at QB Perry or Rosier was his downfall. Perry should have been the starter the whole year but whatever. Its in the past. Richt should be great in his new profession on the ACC Network. Believe it or not fellas times have changed and Miami is on the rise. NEW ERA. The New Miami is what they are calling it. Manny Diaz has this Hurricanes team ready to roll. Dan Enos will have this offense firing.. QB is the remaining question. Who gets the start Nkosi Perry (Beat State already) Tate Martell (Ohio state transfer) or Jarren Williams (4 star Freshman). All three can bring different aspects to the field but who has the clutch factor. O line should Gel... The Defense is top 5 in the country. Open vs the Gaytors in O town at Camping World Stadium College Game day and all. The game isn't getting much hype on ESPN considering its 22 days away... I predict a very different outcome in this opener compared to last years shit show vs Lsu.

Well, who knows where you live nowadays. Could be ocala, tampa, or timbuktu.

I'm hoping Canes beat them. Would be a great storyline. ....cause, Its Great to Be A Gator Hater, cause its great to be...a Gator Hater.

Packers/Bears to open the NFL season. First time since 2003 that the SB champs will not open. They went with the oldest rivalry, the Bears and NFL's 100th and Packers 101'st season. Bears could be SB contenders while the Pack tries to right the ship after dominating the division for years. Will find out real quick if the new-look Packers are worth a crap...

That would be St Petersburg ... which has become the hippest & coolest town in Floriduh .... but the "surf" is an abysmal joke 99.675% of the time.

In regards to this article the Miami write up is completely inaccurate. Not from a personal opinion but from facts. Miami went 7-6 last year J. Daniel Pearson| The Writer For the News-Gazette wrote 2018 Miami went 8-4... Not only that Travis Homer graduated last year as a senior and wont be returning.. I wouldn't listen to a word that man says even if it were regarding The Canadian Football League.

When I saw that it was the Kissimmee paper I didn't even bother to read the article. The ON-G is in no danger of winning a Pulitzer any time soon.

Manny Diaz and Dan Enos decide to start Jarren Williams for the FLA game. The Red Shirt Freshman out of GA beat out last years starter Nkosi Perry and Ohio State transfer Tate Martell. It was a long competitive off season for the QB room but the coaches believe they made the right choice. I trust Dan Enos. He was in the elite 11 with Trevor Lawrence and has to be legit to be taking over The U. Tate Martell is the most athletic with his wheels but not a lot of accuracy throwing the ball.. I am sure they will come out in some read option looks for him. Nkosi Perry is a solid backup. One out of the two will be transferring soon enough..

What a way to kick off the NFL season....with a snoozefest. 10-3 packers win. I fell asleep at half time.

Here's the early candidate for our most overrated team of the preseason. We're already regretting having Miami at No. 15 in our Yahoo Sports preseason top 25.

Miami fell to 0-2 Saturday night after losing 28-25 at North Carolina. Yeah, Florida - the team that beat Miami in Week 0 - is a borderline top-10 team and the Tar Heels are now 2-0 after beating South Carolina in Week 1. But losing to North Carolina when you have 14 days to prepare is almost inexcusable when you're Miami.

True freshman QB Sam Howell was 16-of-24 passing for 274 yards and two scores against Miami's defense while running back Javonte Williams averaged 7.6 yards a carry.

Things shouldn't be nearly as bleak for the Hurricanes as they are for the Volunteers, however. QB Jarren Williams showed promise against the Gators and was 30-of-39 passing for 309 yards and two scores Saturday night. And the ACC is much more manageable than the SEC. Miami still has a legitimate shot at eight wins in 2019. But maybe we're just saying that to try to not be really wrong about our preseason ranking.
