FBI is investing the National Enquirer and there's an FEC complaint likely involving another Trump campaign scandal.
http://mobile.nytimes.com/2018...r-american-media.html AND, as part of Trump's regular use of the Enquirer to pay off informants, a story broke today about an illegitimate child Trump fathered with the help at Trump Tower. Paying off a doorman costs $100k less than a porn star. |

Federal prosecutors announced Wednesday that they have struck a non-prosecution agreement with National Enquirer parent company American Media Inc., effectively ruling out charges for the tabloid publisher over its role in securing hush money from President Trump's longtime personal lawyer Michael Cohen.
As part of the agreement, AMI admitted to making a payment of $150,000 in cooperation with members of Trump's presidential campaign in order to prevent former Playboy model Karen McDougal's claims of an affair with Trump from being made public during the 2016 race. AMI chairman David Pecker is a longtime friend of Trump's, and the Enquirer was one of Trump's most reliable and enthusiastic media boosters during the campaign. Pecker met with Cohen "and at least one other member of the campaign" in August of 2015, according to the non-prosecution agreement, which was struck with prosecutors from the office of the U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of New York. "At the meeting, Pecker offered to help deal with negative stories about that presidential candidate's relationships with women by, among other things, assisting the campaign in identifying such stories so they could be purchased and their publication avoided," the agreement read. "Pecker agreed to keep Cohen apprised of any such negative stories." Details of the payment to McDougal emerged in 2016, mere days before the election, when the Wall Street Journal reported about her agreement with the Enquirer. At the time, AMI insisted that it "has not paid people to kill damaging stories about Mr. Trump." The reported agreement drew wider attention earlier this year following a story published by The New Yorker, which shed light on the tabloid practice of "catch and kill," wherein a publication purchases a story purely so it won't run. McDougal signed a contract worth $150,000, granting AMI "exclusive ownership of her account of any romantic, personal, or physical relationship she has ever had with any 'then-married man,'" the New Yorker reported. The news of the non-prosecution agreement comes the same day that Cohen was sentenced to three years in prison for his role in the matter. In a statement, the SDNY said, "Assuming AMI's continued compliance with the agreement, the Office has agreed not to prosecute AMI for its role in that payment." DOH!
Trump has denied the affair. Officials with American Media have said they could not corroborate McDougal's story of the affair. The company's chairman, David Pecker, has been friends with Trump for decades. "Despite the level of hysteria and partisanship in American politics, we are surprised and disappointed by the unprecedented attack on a media company by an organization that purports to value free speech," American Media officials said in a statement Tuesday about the Common Cause complaint. "Fortunately, the First Amendment does not play politics, and we look forward to the opportunity to respond to these meritless claims." http://www.usatoday.com/story/...ayboy-model/354495002/ ------------------------- I was right. |

First, and again, , , , , , I agree with a lot of Trump's policies, other than environmental, but regardless of any of that he is a complete, consummate, NYC Dick Head.
It does seem that if all of this stuff builds up much further that he could very likely be Impeached and removed from office. If he is impeached and convicted, the fun will really start, , , , Pence's ideals make Trump look like a flaming liberal fag. The Left will need massive amounts of Prozac in order to cope. ------------------------- Dora Hates You |

Another little diddy that National Enquirer has in the vault is a report from staff on the Apprentice that claim Trump is a speed freak who crushes Adderall and snorts it.

Damn. This is the single best headline ever. The double entendres. Magnificent. Trump hates Bezos with a passion. This was probably not how trump saw this playing out. Bezos outfoxed the pecker.

That's probably the most seen billboard in the USA, in your face at every checkout line. Subtle repetitive propaganda works best Yep, seems to have worked well enough. Good for the Nat'l Enquirer. It should get an award or something. Certainly a big thank you from the American people. Except, paying for "press" to benefit your own political campaign is illegal, also the way they tried to hide the payments, and lying to obstruct the investigation. Enough to impeach Obama within a single news cycle. |

Actually, the NE will have more money to spend than Bezos. It will have insurance. Most insurance companies have far more than Bezos. But, anyway. You've got Trump this time for sure. More champagne tonight, I presume. Boy, you guys are going to become alcoholics. I'm sure you're right, trum....I mean AMI/NE/Pecker have Bezos right where they want him. He better watch out! Bezos had AMI on the run with his investigation. There's something very rotten there. Could involve people who consider WAPO an enemy...
