Anybody spot the errors in that meme? Like 1. Bussing was a post segregation controversy that was still going on and still a controversy where I grew up in the 1980s. 2. Bussing was trying to mitigate the effects of segregation, red lining etc..., 3. People that liked segregration were trying to block bussing because they didn't want the people from down town to get bussed up town in the white flight era? There were huge fights over bussing in Newport News. The people that lived up to Cedar Lane and Hidenwood didn't want the kids from south of route 17 getting bussed up to Warwick and Ferguson. I used to visit the PDX and surrounding areas alot during the summers as I reverse snowbird ( i.e. escape FLa summers to mountains ) and this situation has been going on for a few years in downtown Portland, back to the years when Joey Gibson of the patriots prayer group was running for Senate and did rallies etc. Basically it's not an order rather it's just become the norm, all the cops do is try to keep one group on this side of street other group other. Honestly and IMHO it's just gotten out of control and all the cops really can do - other than outright ban these public protests which ain't happening- is stand by and try to prevent the worser situations. Then when it gets to bad they deem it an unlawful public nuisance or something like that, and then take the authority to disperses & arrest etc any who non conorm. Antifa always shows up in a token rented U haul pick up... I don't know exactly what the situation is currently but few years back the numbers were out of control- think basically all the sidewalks of the urban core of downtown Orlando, say from Amway to Orange, just packed with people all just being crazy. Almost was like a regular weekend event... part of me thinks Fing awsome people standing up for their opinions & cause rather than just whining in bars or on facestalker, but the grown up in me says sad really sad! A beautiful American city has sort of descening into anarchy for a few hours on random Saturdays ( And, is one of reasons why I quit going out there and now go western slope in Colorado
