A few responses to the Bigot in Chief from a few free-thinking Republicans:
Sen. Susan Collins, R-Maine, said Trump's tweet suggesting the women go back to their home countries "was way over the line, and he should take that down." "Those tweets are racist and xenophobic," Rep. Will Hurd, R-Texas, told CNN. "It's also behavior that's unbecoming of the leader of the free world. He should be talking about things that unite, not divide us." Sen. Lindsey Graham, R-S.C., said Trump should "aim higher" following his missives ... "They are American citizens," Graham said. "They won an election. Take on their policies. The bottom line here is that this is a diverse country." Sen. Pat Toomey, R-Pa "President Trump was wrong to suggest that four left-wing congresswomen should go back to where they came from," Toomey said. "Three of the four were born in America and the citizenship of all four is as valid as mine." Sen. Tim Scott, R-S.C., on Monday labeled Trump's attack "unacceptable" and "racially offensive." ... "No matter our political disagreements, aiming for the lowest common denominator will only divide our nation further," "There is no excuse for the president's spiteful comments," Sen. Lisa Murkowski, R-Alaska, tweeted on Monday afternoon. "They were absolutely unacceptable and this needs to stop." Rep. Chip Roy, R-Texas, tweeted that the president was "wrong to say any American citizen, whether in Congress or not, has any 'home' besides the U.S." Former Republican Ohio Gov. John Kasich "What @realDonaldTrump said about Democrat women in Congress is deplorable and beneath the dignity of the office," Kasich tweeted. "We all, including Republicans, need to speak out against these kinds of comments that do nothing more than divide us and create deep animosity - maybe even hatred." "As Americans, there is more that unites us than divides us," Rep. Susan Brooks, R-Ind., said in a statement. "The President's remarks to my colleagues across the aisle are inappropriate and do not reflect American values." ".@realDonaldTrump, We must be better than comments like these," Rep. Paul Mitchell, R-Mich., tweeted. "I share the political frustrations with some members of the other party, but these comments are beneath leaders." Republican Rep. Pete Olson of Texas "The Tweet President Trump posted over the weekend about fellow Members of Congress are not reflective of the values of the 1,000,000+ people in Texas 22," Olson tweeted. "We are proud to be the most diverse Congressional district in America. I urge our President immediately disavow his comments." Republican Rep Fred Upton of Michigan "Frankly I'm appalled by the President's tweets. There's no excuse," Upton wrote. "Inflammatory rhetoric from both sides of the aisle that is used to divide us just isn't right. It's not helpful. We have too many challenges facing us that we ought to be working on together - immigration, the debt ceiling, the border crisis. The President's tweets were flat out wrong and uncalled for, and I would encourage my colleagues from both parties to stop talking so much and start governing more." ------------------------- GOP: Gaslight Obstruct Project |

Trump's latest twitter tirade is calculated strategy. It has two goals: 1. Fire up his base and appeal to the rust belt swing vote. Appeal to their belief that the Democratic Party caters to "special" minorities and ignores them. This is the demographic that the Democrats hope to win back with Uncle Joe. 2. Drive a wedge between the Democratic establishment that is backing the centrist presidential candidates and supporters of the progressive upstarts like AOC. It is a good strategy. If the Democrats support the AOC's of the party then the Republicans can say to those rust belters "See the Democrats favor those people over you. If the Democrats throw AOC et al. under the bus then that enthusiastic bloc gets let enthusiastic and you get lower voter turn out.

There is still a year till the election. Any slump in the economy and Elmo can take the White House. As far as infighting, to win, the far left will have to move right and the moderates will swing farther left, that leaves us with Warren, who is more than capable of taking Trump in the election.
But think about this, why are they hiding Trump? Why no press conferences? Why does he only speak in little blurbs when he is heading out in the helicopter? Trump struggled his way through his teleprompter speech and rants like a broken record at his rallies. Hell, can Trump even make it through an open debate? We shall see. ------------------------- I was right. |

As far as infighting, to win, the far left will have to move right and the moderates will swing farther left, that leaves us with Warren, who is more than capable of taking Trump in the election. the way i see it, for me it comes down to being rational and realistic. the far left lacks that entirely. just look at the idiots that support actually replacing capitalism with socialism. they are inflicting deep wound in us with that nonsense when we should be selling regulated capitalism with strong social programs. all they do is confuse the issue and make it appear to many that voting blue is voting socialist. feeds the reds and proved their point. it has to stop Yes, I get what you are saying, but the link I've provided is what the Right gets to see when it comes to socialism. http://www.dailysignal.com/201...re-my-6-observations/ The site links to itself when it comes to footnotes, yet people like FK and dingpatch take it as gospel. The message of capitalism with strong social programs is out there, it's just buried by bullshit from right leaning propaganda. ------------------------- I was right. |

I'm trying to figure out how the GOP has absorbed all the crazys (chemtrailers, anti-vaxxers, anti-NWO tinfoil hatters, nativists, etc...) without penalty. But the Democrats can't include the AOC Caucus without being completely discredited. Obviously the the Oligarchs can afford better meme machines.

There is still a year till the election. Any slump in the economy How about a trillion dollar deficit under a strong economy. It is one thing to run a deficit like that when you are handed the economy after a crash that cuts the stock market in half and obliterates real estate. Running a deficit like that right now is fixing to cause real problems once the big tax stimulus is finished running through the market. Thus, to get your wish, you must vote for the right kind of GOP candidates and retake the house. LOL. You mean like how they exploded the debt when they had total control for 2 years? ------------------------- "The truth is incontrovertible. malice may attack it, ignorance may deride it, but in the end, there it is." -Sir Winston Churchill |

No, how odumbo compiled more debt than all presidents before him! Barack Obama: Under President Obama, (8 years) the national debt grew the most dollar-wise. He added $8.588 trillion Stimulus spending that rescued the economy, tax cuts. Donald Trump: As projected in Table S-10 in the FY 2020 budget, Trump plans to add $5.088 trillion to the debt in his first term. That's a 30 percent increase from the $20.245 trillion debt at the end of Obama's last budget for FY 2017. If he remains in office for a second term, he plans to add $9.1 trillion. tax cuts for the rich, spending. ------------------------- "The truth is incontrovertible. malice may attack it, ignorance may deride it, but in the end, there it is." -Sir Winston Churchill |

Seriously. Look how a big farmer uses debt. Borrow money to get the crop planted. Hit a big year and pay off the debt. Hit a bad year and use credit to get through. Farmer doesn't go out an expose himself to even more debt in the good year. It isn't rocket science. You deficit spend to cover a revenue shortage in tough times. You don't go and over-capitalize your fishing fleet, or your barn full of tractors, unless you don't mind them sitting idle and rusting out or getting foreclosed when times get lean.

There is no "far left" involved in electoral politics. AOC and the Justice Dems are barely left of center. The country has slept through a drift to the right for so long that the center looks "left".
Far left would be calling for nationalization of industries and public ownership of the means of production. All the bellyaching about "deep wounds" and all that is horseshit. They want to do a re-run of the 2016 election, and want a scapegoat for when they lose. We accept no responsibility for the ignorance of the trumpists, and we're under no obligation to compromise our principles to elect a center right corporatist Dem. ------------------------- Capitalism is based on the ridiculous notion that you can enjoy limitless growth in a closed, finite system. There're strategists writing his material, just like the writers at NBC wrote his apprentice script. Pelosi gets outed trying to quiet the insurgents, for the good of the party. The party doesn't want to look too socialist. The party needs Uncle Joe to bring those rust belters back. Poof, right on the heals of that Trump unleashes this little twitter tempest.

Yeah. That's pretty much it. They are orchestrating the pump up of the stock market so they can cash out and cause the next crash while telling the plebes to "let their retirement accounts and puny investments ride it out". Then a little austerity for the people and a bail out of the select banks. Carve up the remaining assets of the banks they let fail and give them to the "too big to fail" bailed out banks. And they have all the cash to come back in an buy low. Getting this huge tax cut mid-economic recovery is total gravy.
