A group of four enjoyed the well-organized late afternoon waves, running around 3 ft, much smaller than the chaotic mess before lunch, with wave faces getting over 6 ft. Here's what I've got so far at Flickr.

Included is a 5-photo sequence of catching a wave by backstroking. Aaron Peirsol would approve.
