High tide is hurting it in Melbourne (Doubletree). Mushy, weak rides here.

I checked a high tide shorebreak spot at dawn and it was kind of a messy slop. Didn't get wet. There was some nice swell lines coming in though.

it's been blowing onshore all week with fun waves every day in MB... these conditions improve my surfing as much as any perfect day here or abroad cuz you have to be able to read and react quickly without much predictability

yes, there are closeouts and mushburgers all around you, but constantly moving around in the break with drift and shifting peaks that pop up out of nowhere and then connect all the way to the inside are out there too

for me, so fun and I like to try different boards I wouldn't expect to be good in the short period waves.  the Bessell has proven to be one of the funnest wind slop boards in the harem... who knew?!

go surf, there's waves... wind looks to lay down this weekend too for those who need "clean" conditions

Late afternoon high tide was a ball yesterday.  Went out mid morning this morning and it wasn't good.  Looks to be an uptick this afternoon so gonna hope for another good late afternoon sesh.

Just got out at the light. Checked a few spots. Utter crapfest really. Windslop disorganized mess. Good exercise and all but it's getting old. Ahhh. Hard to be in THE right spot to catch a shoulder. It has size but no ass backing it up. Its like a bad drream though. You're wave starved and these wave-like things are breaking all around you and can't catch hardly any of them. Demoralizing! It totally would not matter what board you were on either. (needless to say I had a lot of time to go over all of this in my head out there)

Looking forward to tomorrow.

Brother, when you get a minute, could I get a list of the words that trigger these fits?

Hey. Where are we going? (And what are we doing in a hand-basket?)

Just surfed Satelite. Choppy sloppy but solid head high sets. Had a blast. Go surf!
