Air fare to Barbados is probably is close to the cost to Honolulu, a bit under $700..  San Juan can be around $300 on JetBlue.  San José del Cabo low as $331 on American.

Lufthansa is offering astonishing low prices to Johannesburg, but there's no surf there.  Cape Town in August $1100.

Lima $462 on Copa, but I wonder about water pollution.

Airfare has begun to put a real crimp on "strike missions".

Auckland and Christchurch a bit over $1400, almost exactly double Honolulu or Maui.  But Muriwai, Piha, and Raglan are almost guaranteed surf.

I wish there were still $200 fares to the US Pacific coast, though there's been some great recent opportunities to visit San Diego for $300 or so on short notice (SWA).

IM mi if you waan di link to Jamaica! There are some other options in addition to Jamnesia, if you don't want to get grouped in with a heap of Canadian tourists. It has been going off for the past two weeks dung ya so and there is a forecast showing another two weeks of solid surf with light winds!!! Fun, uncrowded waves and amazing culture.

Here is a shot from my last trip down there a month ago:
