Its difficult coordinating 4 surfers and 2 guys shooting while also landing on a good swell. We have tried 3 times and gotten everything from pretty fun to the flatest in a decade... but we finally broke the curse.

Randy Townsend, Corey Howell, Logan Hayes and Fisher Grant joined us for a trip to Colorados in early August and about a week out we knew it was on. Not much adventure in this one but some really epic surf so check it out and let me know what you guys think!

Nice video.  Great waves for sure.

I hope your guy at 2:49 knows he blatantly ripped off the guy next to him.  Maybe it was an honest mistake but I've had this issue before and more than once where a group of hotshots and their camera man come in and they think that they don't have to adhere to normal etiquette because they are more advanced than us regular joes" and are "working".

I think it's important to remember that everyone has the same right to waves and that joe blow next to you that you are much better than may have spent a lot of money, taken time off work, gotten a hall pass on chores, called in massive favors from inlaws for child care, etc just to be sitting next to you.  If joe blow gets the wave and blows it oh well, there will be another wave.

Unfortunately the 'brazil' problem has gotten vastly worse at Iguana that last few years. I love that area, but between the gringo tax getting silly within Iguana, the NSR people trying to nickel and dime you to death on top of the 30-50% they up charge things, and the braz tools dropping in on everyone ....there are much much better places to go.

My advice is that if you do go, don't bother doing anything through NSR ...ever. Drive yourself (super easy these days) or get your own driver, get a place through someone independent, and arrange your own boat trips from Gigante or Asterillo. Also stay away from colorado's main peak and check out a couple of the various places just down the beach at different times. You will find waves nearly as punchy and still a barrel fest with far less crowd. Also get out in your truck or on a boat and explore all the other breaks in the area that are far better.

Yeww much appreciated everyone! As for Costa I have only been once but we got some damn good swell during that trip. Honestly we just haven't had amazing luck with swell on our previous trips and I kid you not we would go right in between two swells every time we went to Nica. Felt good to be in the right place at the right time for once!

South Nica is much better than Costa in general because of the wind condition. Also, have seen people complain about it sucking because they don't know the place. Some of the breaks don't work if there is too much south in it for example ...while others will be firing.

miker's right plus there are a bunch of top quality waves close to each other.  Not necessarily easy to get to though or follow because of swell/tide nuances.   Highly recommend going with one of the guided dealies.  JJ, Surfari Charters, and the like.
