I'll say it: nothing is more boring to me than watching people surf wave pools - snap one, snap two, air.

At least when the surfer takes new lines, approaches surfing differently, there's some variation to the wavepool dream, that, like too much of anything, soon becomes a nightmare. I love the return of older styles even when I'm incapable of that diversity myself.

Slater invited him.  Seems like a case of game respecting game. To paraphrase Marlo Stanfield, "People want it one way, but it's the other way."

He got deeper in the barrel on the mini log than some of the best tube riders in the world.

Eff em. If you like the way it rides, ride it. Surfing is an individual sport, not a popularity contest.

I think sometimes it looks like he is trying hard to surf a certain way, throwing hands up at odd times, standing with feet super close together etc. To me good style the rider shouldn't appear to be trying hard to do anything, like Parko!

But the dude rips for sure

Style is not for the observer. It just happens. So I ride with a slight arched back and a clothes hanger trailing arm. Feels good to me, mind your own business.

Style could be solely for the observer?

A well ridden wave always gets the nod!!! No matter what`s being ridden... We all can think back to a booger, longboarder, SUPer, shortie, fishy being ridden really well and thinking or saying, `Nice ride`

Style is what it is, Good style is different, and obvious when seen... just sayin`

Cheater 5 in the tube, every nice climbing and dropping with 5 over nice touch. Looks like he was having some fun just seeing what is possible in that wave pool.

Dingpatch, don’t worry about the 10 foot board, a 12 foot Glider can run interference for you.
