Turned out to be a pretty good trip overall.... had some down days in the middle due to wind/weather/swell.  But surfed 11/14 days (and many days had 2 sessions)

Did some driving around due to some winds (surfed Makaha one day, that was "interesting"), but scored some pretty solid uncrowded surf for the most part, with a solid 3 day rally at the end of the trip that left my body feeling pretty sore

Plan B , glad you got to surf the west side , many great memories over that way. Was out surfing Maili one afternoon when this guy in the line up starts freaking out , turns out some local were kicking up the sand near his car and found his keys. By the time he hit the beach his car was long gone . I took him up to the Makaha police dept and they calmly dove him out to a deserted cane road where his car was already partially taken a part. gets a little dicey over there , but the waves are great when it's on .

Shit, that sucks..... definitely some serious iceheads over there, but my Maili experiences have been good.  Caught it absolutely FIRING one year , and everyone was super nice (also caught it really good last time with only a few guys... becuase it was "onshore" (maybe 5kts)  but have heard the stories too

Wanted to surf there the makaha day, but makaha was more sheltered from the Hard N winds, and the swell was hitting better

Got some good days in the mokes area when there were Kona winds... swell was too west to really wrap around Kahuku.... but last 3 days had liht and variable winds with 4-6' (HI) surf which is my favorite size.... opens up alot of spots and spreads out crowds

It's been a weird season , just saw some IPhone video around the corner from Turtle bay near the Polynesian cultural Center that had flash floods sweeping across the road almost washing out cars on the Kam . Glad you scored many different spots on your trip , and enjoyed it safely .
