That is not a real picture, and although the Ash Wednesday Storm was real and wreaked havoc on the NE, especially the OBX, this is the most unrealistic, original "photoshopped" pic in all of surfing as well as East Coast lore!!!

I wonder if we are setting up for a March storm like the 1993 Storm of the Century or the 1962 Ash Wednesday Storm. There's a massive amount of heat building up round these parts with us being parked under this perpetual high pressure. Lot of fuel if the jets come together in the right place.

Trough in the west has to move off into Esatern Pacific...then a ridge will(should) build in over west coast/western midwest allowing trough to set up on east coast.

Blocking up near Greenland should come back first week of March. NAO and AO also look to be going back negative...

Not Fernandina and not a "REAL" photo. It's Kitty Hawk NC, and it's 2 different photos superimposed to one another!!! Pre photoshop, but the same principal. Don't but the HYPE!!!

Feels like forever we've been stuck in this $&@! pattern. The last couple of years, this ridge keeps dominating the weather more and more persistently. It is really mucking with the program here in SFL. The surf sucks and the constant wind bump ruins the fishing and diving too.
