Anyone have any experience riding a Neilson Alchemist ? Interesting shape , my experience with a LB that has a pulled in hip and tails is that they tend to drag in all but the juiciest waves around here Is this shape just hype ? or is there is something to consider here ?

Alchemist

Tom gives a nice description. May not be my cup of tea, but probably worth trying.

I can tell you anything you'd like to know as the board was designed for me. I'm the guy pictured riding it. It's a mix of all you want in a noserider. I've owned the original Tyler Riddler that it was based off and this is modified for our coast!

Ask Tom here, or call'm. My experience is he won't fuzz ya, but will speak directly to exactly what he's put in it and why. G'luck and enjoy!

Truth! That board reminds me of one Tyler H was riding in Single Fin Yellow... Sort of a Riddler look to it. All of his sh!t is pure Fire...The best board he ever made me was pre-Right Coast Cruiser and post JR Model...that fave board was (is) a combo of both of those. Man I miss home...

I'll say this again, I am the guy pictured riding the alchemist. It was designed for me. I had full input on its design. What do you want to know? Dims, weight, glassing, blank, proper fin, depth and length of concave, where the step tail starts etc.

Staytrue enlighten us on some of the pros of riding the alchemist in Florida surf. How does the board stay locked in on the nose with less tail area? Does it turn? What kind of fin would you ride? I think you may have said it before that this board was influenced by Hansen or Happy/Jacobs? These are some questions to get this started. Thanks bro!

The Alchemist has an elongated rail line in the nose giving you more surface area allowing for more stability while camping on the nose. It's one of the best noseriders I've ever ridden. It has a long blended concave that covers almost half the boards length. The step tail allows water to go over the tail while on the nose and push down (helps with nose riding). The step also allows you to sink the tail much easier in turns. The hip in the board with its smooth cut inward actually allows water to flow with it and stick to it so it locks in like a much larger board while nose riding but turns like a smaller one due to the reduced area.

Dude- will you please just get hold of Tom. You're directing great questions to those who aren't best to answer them. I don't understand why you aren't making the connection and saving your find to tell us later.
