I see some of these on Amazon but they don't look like their designed for surfing, big front pocket, loose fitting etc. Any recommendations?

they make some.... (pretty sure oneill does), but you'd be better off checking out a surf shop to see how they fit vs Amazon.... and get stuck with one for paddling and fishing.

Just get a "standard" long-sleeve rash guard/sun shirt.

Then get a cap/hat like this:

Patagonia makes one. Works great and is worth every penny. Full on UV protection too. Not ur standard rashguard.

I had one a long time ago; didn't use it much. It had a drawstring to cinch the hood around your face, and a small shade/bill, much smaller than a baseball-style cap.

The hood stays on better than a hat, but was basically too warm for summers in FL. Sound kinda gets distorted, and there's occasionally extra water draining into your face.

Obviously better than nothing at protecting from skin cancer.

Don't use the one from Columbia, it will straight up drown you.
