Dang, I am really going to be hated . . ., but seriously. I grew up in Cal and spent many, many summers in Hawaii surfing in the 70s, 80s and 90s. Do any of you really know this guy? I do. I am not s super spiritual person, but I believe in Karma. This guy messed with me and a lot of people I grew up with for no legitimate reason, I see this as Karama. There is a reason not happy living in the best place on earth and doing the best there is to do on earth. You treat people badly and cause harm to others and guess what happens to you? Karma will get you ever time.

I suspect his deep depression comes from the pain he inflicted on everyone in his ego driven rise to fame. I'm guessing but I was there on the north shore for about three weeks in the 90's and it was pretty clear he was cultivating the image as bully and an enforcer.
