Hello 2nd light Familia!

Please help a fellow "inlander \ 2ndlighter" out my friends..

It is my 44th time around the sun this coming Thursday, and I have the day scheduled off work to really just be NOT at work.. But my MAIN desire for my bday would be to surf! (Life screwed me over this weekend and I wasn't able to get ANY of that sweet lil longboard swell that past this weekend )

Sooo, all my "go to" forecasters are not really updating this week for some strange reason..

But MSW says "DO IT"..

Surfline says "uhm Maybe do it?"

Bob says "Mid week maybe?!"

And NOBODY else is doing any updates today.. The St. Augie Dude "Dean" has been stating since last week that there will be swell sometime this week, but he inst updating today either.. My main source for the inside scoop Mr. Tipp Time hast updated since last Friday (I've been MURDERING the refresh button on his site every house on the hour but.. ).. (Usually means he is on a surf trip!)

so I am SUPER TORN..

Does anybody see waves showing for tomorrow? I am considering taking Tuesday off instead, and then just working on my bday ("YUCK!!") but if it means i can get a few sliders, i will be STOKED enough to make being at work on my born day "acceptable" (hahaha)

But please can ANYONE with any inside scoop (or even an educated guess) please add a YAY, or a NEY! for going tomorrow?

Thanks in advanced,
Long_flaco1

If you want to burn a vacation day because it's your B-day, then have fun...... If you're going to do it for the "surf", mo bettah save those days for sept/oct. Happy B-day.

NHC just put the odds at 60% Barry forms on our door step within 48 hrs. Quite a change in their forecast from the last one. GOES 16 imagery is looking promising too. And NOAA says 2 to 3' with S winds tomorrow, then back down to 2' Tuesday and Wednesday. But Thursday it's 2 to 3 again with light west winds. Best indicator of all time though is my ex-wife. She would always get hiccups just before a long flat spell would break. She still calls me when the hiccups start and cusses me out. Since I haven't heard from her today I'd say Thursday's the day. Happy Birthday!

Big change from this morning.... but it's so close that I'm not really expecting much simply due to the location of the fetch. I am going out of town fri-mon so best chance for waves may be then

Tuesday more than likely will not be good. South winds are predicted in the morning 10-15 knots, then SW and stronger into the afternoon. That 'possible' tropical depression looks to fiz out as it move us the coast. bringing windy and rainy weather. But, who knows. surf forecasting is iffy.

.MARINE...
Tonight...Low pressure will lift north just offshore the Treasure
coast overnight and near the Cape by sunrise. Increasing
southerly flow 15-20 knots over the southern offshore zone so have
put up a Caution headline there. Seas will build slightly to 3 ft
with 2 ft elsewhere. Expect a high coverage of showers and
thunderstorms over the southern waters.

Tuesday-Friday...The Atlantic high pressure ridge will locally
weaken as it shifts south and east as a weak frontal trough locates
over north Florida. Also, a weak low will continue to lift north
away from the area Tuesday aftn. Offshore flow will setup later
this week and freshen from the southwest. This will allow storms
to move offshore during the afternoon and evening each day.

South winds 5 to 10 knots increasing to 10 to 15 knots Tuesday
becoming mainly southwest at 10 knots the remainder of the week.
Seas 1-3 feet. Winds and seas below cautionary thresholds, but winds
and seas will be higher near scattered to numerous showers and
storms.

Hope I'm wrong, but this storm's setup reminds me of so many of the Gulf Coast storms; when I lived there. Too close and heading the wrong way for much to happen. At least for tomorrow. Maybe a little sliders later in the week though.

Too close.

Too many Bahamas in the way.

Too south wind.

Too Florida.

Secret Inlet for a few hours.

Or the south facing Atlantic Beach, though the wind might be wrong.

The 20 mile buoy is 2.6 at 8 with the swell from the east and a light north east wind gusting to around 6 knots.

The 120 is victory at sea - 25 knots plus, but going the wrong direction.

It's looking fun for what it is. Although we could be getting "flat spell" goggles at this point, as well.
