Other forums speak to moving this event back to Trestles. Trestles is fat. ('cept the Left) Move this event to Baja Malibu. Associated peripheral goodwill benefits plus consistent juicy, contestable, challenging beachbreak, is what's needed to showcase pro talent again for this competitive sport. Let's lessen the circus like value a bit to help regain a sense of this being a valid human competition. ymmv

Last year this happened to me. There is such a long delay between waves that there is a lot of talking and commercials. I got bored and gave up. In theory this should be exciting, non-stop action, but instead it's worse than a slow day in the ocean.

The adrenaline and surprise of real wave probably overcomes the fatigue that comes with a long ride. They beautiful perfect wave with its open sections, tube sections, left and right brings out the training and cardio. Looks like so much fun too.

I find this year a bit better to watch. Apparently they "slowed the wave down" so they can rip it more.

You can really see the differences in they way people surf. And you can see that some people either feel no pressure or are supremely confident (Gabby, Slater, Buchan). It is a wait between waves and not sure if this contest venue will stand the test of time (when Kelly leaves?) but I like it. My teamwise: Yago got screwed so far, Andino just came up thin.

I like to see an expression session with a hand rail for boards that are glassed with carbon fiber bottoms or something else slick and durable. Can long rail slides be done? Lien to tail slides, smiths, etc....Also add a rock they have to air over or do a Boneless over the channel (rock) type sk8 trick. This controlled environment could combine some weird stuff like finless boards and launch ramps, rails and of course robotic sharks with lasers as mentioned above.

Felipe Toledo is the man. That's how you own that wave. Damn.

Caroline Marks got nuts!

Caroline interview after destroying some waves - "I haven't surfed in two days. Just hanging in Lemoore getting my nails done with the girls."
