Swiping imagery is a huge problem and, as best I can tell, rawsurf's precautions are pretty much essential. Some do sell photos via Instagram-size images, but that tends to be prolific daily/weekly output and I bet such people may be keeping the very best somewhat out of sight. I should have an interesting night surf photo calendar showing up in a few days. Will do a review if it's good.

When your page opens, all of the photos are garbage. They are not "thumbnails" and I have not tried to "enlarge" them.
For access to high resolution versions of the photos, please subscribe. However we are working on making the thumbnails more clear to the desktop user on catalog page that is view-able for free so guys can see if they got their shot (as cell seems to display better), but at the same time we are trying to prevent photo theft, i.e. someone taking a screen shot without signing up.
This is a pretty poor method to execute that imo. No one wants to subscribe only to find out theres no photo of themselves

Not sure if you're comprehending the message we're putting out Julianuribe23. We were implementing a system that distorts photos that aren't "selected" to help deter screen shotting. It wasn't working properly, so we changed it until we can fix the settings to work properly. All the thumbnails are now view-able without subscription. Subscribe to have access to social sharing and purchasing high resolution/non-watermarked copies. Thank you

I understand what you are trying to do, but you probably need to go about it another way.

FYI - full sized (watermarked) image URLs are in plaintext when viewing source. I imagine altering the filenames would allow a nefarious individual to download un-watermarked images. Something like changing '_marked' to '_subscribe' or '_full' or '_original'.

Limit your upload size on these preview images, don't upload the largest size you have available - keep it to something like 600 wide, max.

Please understand that once something is on the net you basically no longer own it. Good luck in your efforts.

I think that would be a solid idea. I understand he wants to protect his product but there has to be an effective method that works in the favor of the surfers being able to preview the content

Just post a few non surfing or poorly times shots to show image quality.

Thank you; exactly why we don't upload any unmarked images alongside the watermarked copies. Those are left offline, sent by email after purchase. We're going to watermark through the entire image next round and see how the response goes with that LOL

I was in Lauderdale for Dorian. . There was a fine line on where it was good and when it wasn't. Typical South Florida! Although I had my board w/me, i didn't go. Shooting myself now after seeing the photos.
