This isn't a new thing. They did this years ago when Kelly was in contention for another title. It was massive and wonky, but Kelly was killing it in the warm up. In the end, they canceled and ran it when it was small. Kelly got knocked out. If the best can ride it, the rest should have to deal with it or pull out.

I was right.

The WSL walks a very fine line when holding events at the Pipe , the last thing that they want is one of their athletes getting killed on a live internet feed . Now with the women involved ,they will be even more cautious regarding so called "Popper Conditions " and the event will only suffer in the long run and continue to turn viewers off . ( I did not even bother to post a link yesterday as it was sub -par with very little to no Pipe and turned into a mini Backdoor Shoot out . ) Still you would think that there would be a certain amount of push back from John John and the rest of the Hawaiian contingent on this very controversial issue .
