I had PRK lasik done 3 1/2 months ago. Its awesome I have 20/15 in both eyes now and no side effects. (I could barely see the top letter on the chart before) Recovery time was a little slow, but totally worth it. My left eye was 20/20 after 6 days but the right eye took about a month and a half to hit 20/20. Now I'm 20/15 in both eyes. Only draw back was dry eyes for a month or two after the surgery, but that can be compensated for with drops. PM me if you want to know more.

Went to Dr. O'Brien at New Vision Eye Center 772-257-8700 in Vero. It was close to Melbourne and great Dr. Who also understands Bell's palsy.

If you are health first employee let me know. I was able to get a relationship establish with them and Health first. You can get a 20% discount.(they also have other companies on their list)

Thanks dropsolo for the recommendation!!!

Update: Still going great! Had check ups all year (no extra cost like others). Been great trying to rework my brain to keep eyes open thru the dirty barrels. Need more barrel time (don't we all)

My wife is scheduled this month to have Dr. O'Brien perform PRK for her also.

Awesome man! Any halos, starburst? Severe dry eye? How Night driving? PRK is Way to go! Longer recovery time But better for sports/athletics . Florida eye institute also has ethical Doctors who said I wasn't candidate While other facilities said yes wanted money Upfront and care only About your $$ and not the human Condition. So if they ask for money For free consultation run away Fast!! P.s. There is a site about PRK and what to look for-laser, recovery Care

Fast!!...

-some Halos for about a month as I healed.
-no severe dry eye. In fact slightly better than before?! Go figure?!
-Night Driving is fine. every now and then with certain lights coming head on I notice halos. but not as often as the old glare with smudged eyeglasses
-Did my research and saw if it was cheap..run! they charged for everything after and had horrible reviews. I can't say enough about Dr. O'Brien and his staff. Plus the discount they gave was a bonus! We put the $towards surf trip and some new shades

Disclaimer: No contacts were lost in the making of this micro barrel

Frothing321- figured I would but my update here.
Was in Hawaii a few weeks back and being able to duck dive with eyes open was crucial almost everywhere I surfed. It was soooo nice to not lose contacts or fool with them etc. etc.!!

Still taking fish oil but not religiously as before. Can feel the difference if I go too long.

My wife had the same surgery (same Dr) and we have been happy.

Nice!! What does fish oil do? In your opinion, how long after surgery could I safely open my eyes underwater in the ocean?
