It seems that we here in Florida really don't need to do much to stay ahead of the "mundane and normal" curve. We'll go toe-to-toe with any state that thinks they are more F'd than us!!!!

Florida simply cannot be beat for weird and macabre.  It's a shame, because it has a lot to offer and is beautiful.  But somehow it became a magnet for the most deranged among the American population.  Not sure why.

I try to avoid it these days, but some family member inevitably plans a cruise or beach vacation each year and I find myself there again (twice this summer).  Each time I am treated to something incredibly weird and disturbing.  Plus, there's the smell of mildew that seems to permeate everything.  Is it a popular air freshener there?

And what's really odd is that I think there's a Floridian dress code that says the middle-aged men must (even though it's always warm) have a cheesy mustache and a Ford or Chevy van.

It's because Florida exists that I'm burning as much coal as I can in the back yard to speed up global warming.

I suppose that Florida is simply evidence of God's sense of humor, including the fact that it's shaped like.... well, you know.

An Ocala man died Saturday after he allegedly broke into a home naked and bit a woman before being taken to a hospital.

James Raines, 40, is accused of breaking into a home along Northeast 45th Street in Ocala. The Marion County Sheriff's Office received a call at 4:26 a.m. about a disturbance at the home. When deputies arrived, they found Raines being held down in a bedroom by another man.

Deputies said they observed Raines naked and unresponsive. First aid was provided, and Raines was transported to an area hospital, where he died.

During the investigation, two men and a woman told deputies that Raines came into the home naked without permission. They told deputies Raines was "out of control and attacked the individuals inside the home," deputies said.

The people inside the home believed Raines was under the influence of drugs or alcohol. The people inside the home told deputies they defended themselves against Raines, and deputies observed a bite mark on one of the women.

Deputies identified Raines as someone who lives in the area and went to his home. While there, another woman was located, who also appeared to be under the influence of a substance. She needed medical treatment.

SACRAMENTO, Calif. --
(AP) It sounds like a Halloween prank but Sacramento police say it was all too real.

Authorities say a homeless woman led them to a decomposed body after she was seen walking down the street with a human skull on a stick.

Police tell KTXL-TV (http://bit.ly/2emtEik ) that the woman was spotted Wednesday on Connie Drive.

Police stopped her at an abandoned house.

Sgt. Bryce Heinlein says the woman told them she had found the skull and led them to an abandoned homeless camp a couple blocks away. That's where officers found the rest of a decomposing body.

The coroner will determine the identity of the remains and the cause of death.
