I have an 07 Dodge Grand Caravan which has never had issues with the remote. Recently it just started working sporadically and the range has decreased from the normal 10-15ft to about 5ft.

I already replaced the batteries twice and looked over the circuit multiple times. It doesn't appear to have any damage. What I'm trying to determine is if this is something on the cars end such as the antennae coming loose or the remote. I've searched the car forums and have found a few range extension hacks, but nothing that determines which end the problem is on. (I don't have a 2nd remote so have no way to test it or compare to another one)

open it up and rub the battery contacts with a pencil eraser....and make sure you have removed the plastic protective coating from the batteries
