facebook you live in your own echochamber

comment sections on news websites going away more and more

trying to control the narrative and people like the owners of 2ndlight dont want to be targeted as harboring 'hate speech'

And 4chan is a cesspool of haters and anonymous abusers for it.
You want that, then go there.
This is a local forum for surfers. most of us actually are surfers most of us know each other, surf together we don't want it to deteriorate into anything like that.
The 2nd light mods are pretty loose, they have allowed a lot of open racism here because it is the south after all and people change slowly.

They just shut this down for a while to force a Thanksgiving break.
Just like how I'm going to avoid talking about Trump tomorrow with the few family members that like him.

That's because the comments are dominated by bots and spam campaigns and not actual readers of the content. Comment sections after news articles are a sea of stupid and trolling. Go to the NPR facebook page and read the comments under the article on "Dowsing".  

Any given article on NPR there will be 1000s in short order on anything remotely controversial and you can tell that the people are troll armies riding in to push their narrative. It isn't readers or NPR listeners doing the commenting. I lost track of the number of fake accounts that were posting to any and all political articles. There were facebook accounts that looked like real people but then you look at their activity and they were posting numerous times per hour 24 hours a day. That is a mfing bot. That is not a dialogue.

However you did click the button that says "I agree" for each of the user names or "handles" you signed up, and by clicking on that button you agreed to abide by those terms and conditions with "you" being the user.    Most normal people understand what that means.

In any case, the words could easily be reviewed and tweaked. So Thank you for pointing that out.
