I had a Frontier for work and it made it to 280k. It had been under water, had the radiator ripped open and driven 40 mile almost on fire, had a hole knocked in the tranny fluid cooler that drained it dry, which I fixed in the field, refilled then drove 120 miles home. Yep, that thing was bad-ass. I wanted another Frontier or the Toyota, but they got me the Chevy instead. Oh, and the F150 that I had before the Chevy blew the 7th cylinder at 105 thousand miles. I had a zombie frontier as well, it was owned by friends parents then used by two of their kids: high school through college, then I beat the crap out of it for several years. 2000 five speed, I think I sold it with 295k miles, and years later my Dad's buddy pulled up to visit and after a little checking verified it was the same truck( I think it had 315k miles) running strong! Cole crazy to think you and your son talking about cars, I think last I saw him he was at Roberto's with a pacifier in his mouth! ------------------------- I troll 2L.com to be a better person in real life |

Life is fast as shit, especially when you get older. I might quit sleeping for a few months to see if that slows things down. Carpe fricken diem is all I can say. Live now or it's gone forever. ------------------------- I was right. |

Three weeks later and the part has come in. Now I'm into the second day of the repair.
Oh, and one more issue with the truck. It had a plastic skid plate. I say had because it's now in my recycle bin and not under the truck where it's supposed to be. ------------------------- I was right. |

$35K+ for a mid-size pickup?! Not a chance. I'm pretty sure that I could buy a beater truck that I can treat like a truck and a used german luxury sedan, with drivetrain still under warranty, and still come out better on price than buying a new Honda Ridgeline. ------------------------- "The government who robs Peter to pay Paul can always depend on the support of Paul," - George Bernard Shaw “Don’t underestimate Joe’s ability to f—k things up.” - Barack Obama “End of quote. I will never own another GM product.
My '06 ford f150 six cylinder is utterly bullet proof. Twenty mpg hiway, ford just bends over backwards to be customer friendly. My tacoma hit 160k and then was unfixable. The f150 will run forever ------------------------- It's a democratic hoax |

What happenned to the Tacoma at 160? Frame rust? I always hear of those things running to 300K
but yeah, I'd take a ford over chevy too! |

Supposedly pcv valve. After the warranty expired. Never ran right again.
Traded it for a new town and country with a lifetime drive train warranty when daimler benz built them. And the unkillable 6 banger f150 ------------------------- It's a democratic hoax |

PCV valve? that should've been a fairly easy "Plug-n-play" fix, no? I'm assuming that's the pre "ecoboost" v6? I'll be in the market for a "new" truck soon..... was planning on another Frontier but open to others if the right deal/vehicle presents itself |
