An exciting year ahead, but damn it must be tough to grow in the shadow of last year's perfect season.

Which begs the question...Is it easier to take over a successful program or a failing one?

First UCF loss and we will all want to fire the coach! He keeps winning and we think it was all Scott Frost doing.

Tough situation. I like the new Coach Heupel. He has done well in interviews and looks to run the same type of offense as Frost. Plus similar story line moving up to first head coach job.

Having Randy Shannon as DC has some experience on that side of the ball.

UCF returns a strong nucleus of players from last year. Will be an interesting year! Spring ball has started and the spring game is scheduled for Apr 21.

Certainly taking over after a very successful coach can be a two edged sword.

If the new coach inherits a well stocked team and at least keeps the program competitive, the can be assured of (typically) a 3-5 year grace period.

However, if they are not competitive or once the new coach reaches the point were it is "his" players on the field ..... the leash can get very short.

The USA Today is out there. They rank FAU 17? Wow. The entire state of Florida is good this year with pockets of greatness. In Orlando and possibly Miami. I see UF struggling and FSU on the rise. I think FAU gets 9 victories.

FAU comes to UCF Sept 21. We will find out very quickly which team is better. FAU has two Qbs that transferred there. 4 star from oklahoma and FSU. They still have that fantastic running back. But, UCF will squash them. (knock on wood).

Florida with new coach, probably growing pains. SEC will notch some losses.

FSU, new coach, Willie Taggart. I'm not impressed. But, will watch and see.

USF, 2nd year Charlie Strong. I expect a drop off with losing Quinton Flowers.

FIU, eh. 2nd year with Butch.

Canes, should be improved from last year's surprising season. Just need that killer instinct and not play down to competition.

How long before we need a Florida conference?
