I heard the news while in Costa Rica last week.
Bummer. I imagine Wimbush will get the start. |

My take, Game 1, Wimbush starts but the other two Qbs get playing time. First game against FAMU. They will not stop UCF rushing attack, thus the score will get out of hand quickly and PT for Gabriel and Quadry Jones.
Wimbush is fifth year senior transfer from Notre Dame. Thus, he has valuable experience and has even played against Stanford already. Wimbush looks to be a great runner but not that good of a thrower. Thus, it sucks that D.Mack is out as he was good dual threat. However, Next man up and glad we got the transfer in Wimbush. He will solidify experience at QB first game or two. But, i do expect the other two to get in. UCF is stacked again this year on offense. OL, WR, RB are best. QB the question mark. Quadry Jones is from Played for Jones (no relation) High School in Orlando and was pretty good there. He only played one play last year and was redshirted. His one play was a flew flicker trick play where he threw for a long TD. Dillon Gabriel is going to be a great Qb for UCF. He broke mariota, Tua, and Milton's Hawaii records. This is a perfect situation for him to earn a starting spot for the next 4 years. if Wimbush falters and just doesn't have it then I can see Gab as 4 year starter for UCF. Josh Heupel is a great QB coach. New era! |
