why? did you watch the game or just abbreviated clips of the altercation that seems to be the only thing being shown? rudolph actually started the fight and tried to rip garret's helmet off. should he be charged for initiating an altercation? garret was wrong and should be suspended, no arguing that. charged? no. he had two grown men fighting with him when he started flailing rudolphs helmet at him. what about pouncey adding in and kicking garret in the head several times? oh, not a browns fan either lol

RiddleMe nails it.

Rudolph tried to take Garrett's helmet off while they were on the ground, so Garrett, being the stronger dude, grabs his face mask, and rips off Rudolph's helmet first!

Then the two Steelers linemen get in there and begin pushing Garrett away, and Rudolph GOES AFTER THE BIGGER MAN, and gets walloped by his own helmet (while Garrett is actually backing away).

These were inexcusable actions by both men, and should be punished as such, because they were both culpable of physical actions.

The game was also fraught with penalties, including Personal Foul helmet-to-helmet hits.

The tension was very high throughout the game, and wasn't a good outcome for either team.

Other Pros weigh in:
Some believe Mason Rudolph, hit in head with his own helmet, isn't getting enough blame

What STARTED the entire thing was when Garrett, with 8 seconds left in a completely decided game, slammed Rudolph to the ground and laid on top of him. That alone should have been a personal foul.

- Rodolph will get some form of league punishment .... prolly a fine
- Pouncy will get some form of league punishment .... prolly a fine and a couple of games.
- Larry Ogunjobi, for being a total little bitch, running up and shoving Rodolph to the ground from behind .... will get some form of league punishment, prolly a fine and a few games

- Garrett is a complete and total head case. Multi million dollar talent and a 10cent head. The league will punish him BIG TIME .... prolly a MAJOR fine and done for the remainder of the season (at least)

ALSO ..... Garrett was not "backing away" he was being pushed away from Rodolph by #66 DeCastro of the Steelers.

UP DATE .... this just came down:

"Cleveland Browns defensive end Myles Garrett is suspended indefinitely without pay for Thursday night's fight during the Pittsburgh Steelers game.

The NFL said the Pro Bowler is out for at least the remainder of the regular season and postseason. He must also meet with the commissioner's office prior to a decision on reinstatement and pay a fine.

It's the longest suspension for a single on-field incident in league history.

Both teams were fined $250,000. Browns defensive tackle Larry Ogunjobi is also suspended for one game and fined. Steelers center Maurkice Pouncey got a three-game suspension and fine. The NFL said there is additional discipline for other players, including those who left the bench during the fight"

Rudolph was pissed about continually being sacked. He grabbed Garret by the neck and Garret lost it. Bottom line is that Garret could have turned the game into a murder. Rudolph started it but Garret escalated.

agreed

the helmet swing (though Garrett is an incredible athlete and probably controlled it) was dangerous as $hit.

Owners - my asset almost got injured!

So Garret gets the dirty rap and the Browns also have Kareem Hunt the lady kicker.
