Gameday! (Thursday)

Kent State @UCF 7pm ch: fs1

Gators @Utah 8pm ch: espn

Also, a SpaceX launch is scheduled just before 8pm. The launch pad lines up right with the 50 yard line in the bounce house. Might make the tv coverage!

UCF is a 38 point favorite so the gator game probably will be more interesting. Remember last year's game? Utah went into the swamp and was a great game with gators winning.

Utah is ranked #14 preseason. Also, as a tidbit, Utah will be in UCF conference in 2024!

Go Knights! Go Gators! Go Utes!

Yeah for football season starting. finally.

Friday on ACC network, Miami of Ohio at Miami of Florida. 7pm. That should be interesting to watch also.

Mario Cristobal has been killing the recruiting after not making a bowl game last year.

UCF 56 - Kent State 6. F

UCF looked great against Kent State. Kent State is not that good but they fought hard. UCF has a lot of playmakers on offense and defense. Next week they travel to Boise State.

Utah 24 - Gators 11 F

I watched a lot of this game. Utah looks really good and played great with backup qb. Ranked preseason #14 and taking out the gators in game 1. Watch out!

In Big 10, Minnesota beat Nebraska 13-10

The Gators died of self inflicted wounds. That being said, their QB has a long way to go and their running game was credible when it wasn't completely undermined by first game penalties.

Gators are absolutely toast this season. I'm hoping for good consistent surf all throughout fall just so I can take my mind off Gators football

UCF starting Qb out for a few weeks with a leg injury. We in good hands though with Timmy McClain:

Former Seminole High School football standout starting as UCF quarterback this weekend

ORLANDO, Fla. - Former Seminole High School football standout, Timmy McClain will start at quarterback this Saturday as UCF hosts Villanova.

The Seminole community will be cheering him on.

"People just need to be ready for a show," Seminole head coach Karl Calhoun said.

McClain certainly put on a show during his four years at Seminole.

He was one of the top quarterbacks in the state, and capped his prep career with a state championship win in 2020.

Now he'll get a chance to shine with his hometown team on Saturday.
"I think everyone's excited for him. I think definitely going to have a lot of Sanford people and Knight Nation on this weekend to see him start," Calhoun said. "It's a pebble to our community to have a guy in the starting quarterback position."

McClain is taking over for John Rhys Plumlee, after the fifth-year senior quarterback got hurt during the Boise State game last Saturday.

Gus Malzahn says Plumlee will miss the next few weeks, as he recovers from his leg injury.

"It's a great opportunity for Timmy...we're confident that he'll play well. He's confident that he'll play well too," Malzahn said.

McClain had multiple scholarship offers coming out of high school.

He signed with South Florida and started his freshman year, before ultimately transferring to UCF in August of 2022.

But he was forced to sit out the entire season because of NCAA transfer rules.

Through the ups and the downs, McClains Seminole family is happy he's finally getting his chance.

"Obviously them going to the Big 12 was a big deal. So Timmy will be the first starting quarterback in a Power Five game when they do play in the conference. I think everyone's excited," Calhoun said.

McClain did get some playing time during UCF's game against Kent State a couple of weeks ago.

But this will be his first time starting since 2021.

K-State Qb was not injured and played. He is a NFL caliber qb

UCF hung with them going into the 4th quarter but a series of blunders killed the Knights.

3-1. Back to the drawing board and hosting Baylor in Orlando next Saturday. Gotta win that one.

Baylor fresh off an ass whooping from Texas. May not be easy.
