Huh? I saw on NWS melbourne facebook page that two senior forecasters 25+ years are retiring. New blood coming in.

NWS MLB said goodbye to two of our lead forecasters today, Tony Cristaldi & John Pendergrast, who are both retiring. Tony's NWS career spanned 31 years (29 spent at MLB) & John's spanned 30 years (25 spent at MLB). We will miss them, but hope they have long & happy retirements!??

There has long been pressure to stop the Weather Service from providing routine weather forecasts, and restrict its interaction with the general public to providing warnings and advisories. So its main function would be to provide raw data for others to interpret.

Right now might be a difficult or impossible time to replace retiring staff--check political news.
