It doesn't look like Matt's anymore; I think it's under someone else now.

Dakine Diego's = Yum Yum if you know what to order and how to sauce it up!

now is best time anywhere beachside.  had to throw out the old stuff because power was out.

ichabods and village tavern - burgers

sushi - hari

burritos - BIB

The itallian pizza and bread guys say - the big enemy is central  Florida water and heat.  I heard places like mellow mushroom are so good because they import spring water to make their pizza.

Dont know where this guy was looking. I work a list resorts and hotels all over the southeast. Including stupid chumpfs mar a lago. Where the staff was all foreign, and mostly russian/ukrainian, and the food sucked.
Brevard beachside food: Jimmys greek food truck on eau gallie is awesome. Excuse me, but there isnt a better breakfast spot than sun on the beach anywhere, period. Barrier jacks close second.
Branos is as good italian as anywhere. Mexicos in the publix plaza cocoa beach is da kine real mex. Coasters is coasters, say no more.
Multiple good thai places..
Fresh seafood: rustys, jazzys lobster..ms. apples crab shack for blues
Pico alto for real peruvian ceviche....the list goes on and on.
Heidis for german/belgian.. As well as little place in the cape. Taste of india and punjab are good.
Take off your blinders, lose the bias and go eat great food.
and have fun doing it......

Robertos is still great. Sometimes they have a special, pan seared whole red snapper. Awesome!

I've also heard good things about Playa Cafe. I just found out today that Roberto's also serves breakfast, and was not disappointed.

Had a great, affordable meal at Cuizine in SB Friday night. Never had a bad one there.

Across the bridge and way up on the high end pricewise is Crush 11 in Cocoa Village. It's the Fat Snook's sister restaurant, and mega-delicious.

It's Oktoberfest at Coasters Pub and Coasters Taphouse this month, if anyone's interested. Here's Melbourne's Coasters Pub's menu for the weekend. Prost!

I wish there were more beach side riverfront/sunset view options.

Coconut Cove in Mel beach.. (which is awesome btw and should be at or near the top of the best of the beach side list)..
And that's it until you get up to cocoa bch.

2nd the Cove as a great place and should be on the list........I heard Jimmy's Greek truck (beachside) is no longer being run by Jimmy, he has hired a couple of workers and he is opening another location....info was quality is suffering badly...hope it is not true, time to place a lunch order and find out...anyone know where Jimmy went to (somewhere over the birdge)? I hope it was just a one time occurance, he was really consistently good.

Is it safe to say Brevard has some decent food. But nothing truly upscale? Or maybe I am missing something.

Crush 11, Fat Snook, and Trend Kitchen are all pretty upscale by my standards. I stayed in the Hell's Kitchen section of Manhattan a few years ago, and was not really impressed, except for one Brazilian restaurant (with the best chicken I've ever had), and it was affordable too.

Some people get into the mindset that the more you pay, the better it tastes, and some restaurants will set their prices in the stratosphere just to establish an image.

You can pay a fortune in NYC and get a spectacular meal, but dollar-for-dollar, I think we do better here. I just wish we had more variety (particularly beachside).

BTW, Crush 11 is moving from Cocoa Village to downtown Melbourne in November.

Agreed.

Man, looking over that Coasters menu made me thirsty. Might just make my way there tonight.

Had an amazing breakfast the last two weekends at Around the World Cafe in Indialantic ( http://www.aroundtheworldcafe.org/ )
The owners are from Lithuania and Ukraine, and really have a good thing going there.

In other news, Crush 11 will relocate to downtown Melbourne sometime around Thanksgiving.
