I think we all need to do that. What we did then, what we are doing now and what we are listening to.

Was a punk rocker back in the 80s due to being a skate punk. (along with surfing), but more so while living in Orlando and going to school (UCF). I didn't own a car so skateboarding was my outlet. Saw many punk bands in the 80s. Being a bigger guy and running 5 miles a day and playing ultimate I ruled the mosh pit. Size/Endurance, not too many people stood in my way. 30+ years later one of my big toe nail has still not grown back correctly...LOL. Some fun times. Now a working professional, married/son and for a hobby, playing drums in a local cover bar band and having fun. No punk music on the set list. Listening to, everything from Elvis to Katy Perry. Enjoy new original music along with listening to classic rock to 80s alternative, to 90s grunge, and whatever Reggae hits my ears...also whatever youtube has on it. I love disco, old school rap, and new artist with a new sound (getting rare nowadays). Neo-country-western grates on my nerves, but can tolerate old school country. Enjoy an occasional bluegrass. Can tolerate about 20 minutes of the Blues before that gets redundant. Jazz, eh, yes, especially if it is live. To me punk music is basically dead and only good if it is live and intoxicated. Recorded punk music, eh....doesn't grab my attention anymore. Rock On!

Love reading and seeing stories like this.  The story and photos are fantastic.

Reminds me of the so very true CSNY line - "Don't let the past remind us of who we are not now."  (insert thumbs up icon here)

That is a great piece..........

Dave Groll's Sonic Highwayshttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6iQG26j-2N0&feature=youtu.be

Part of my punk experience ( late 70's- 81...) down south ( Austin Tx ) is covered in Groll's series.... The Big Boys skate/ thrash/ punk scene is covered here with my high school classmate Tim Kerr. Stories indeed..... Saw some of the punk greats pass through Austin!
