TeeBirdForever Posts: 357 Joined Forum: 08/21/2016	He was not the only blues guitarist that didn't play rhythm. A lot of them sang then filled in with some lead guitar. Past tense because most of the greats are gone. All these guys that don't read do understand basic (or even advanced) music theory. Gilmour was well known for playing chord tones to add to his typical blues runs; he knew what notes were in the changes he was over.
