Balsa Bill surfs in just in time to play keys on a song with the MerDudes behind his shop.   Those were some cool get togethers!

I forgot you had that surf green Strat. Still have it?

I have a shell pink one now, but same homebrew amp. I rebuilt the guts of my RI reverb unit.

I did get an upright bass and a '67 Showman (not used together).

Dang, I miss those shoes, haha.

I can never get rid of that amp because I built it. Still using it.

But that Strat has a new body.

I asked Bill one time,

"Is your truck broken, it never moves?"

"Nope," he says, "I put the truck there because the town wouldn't let me put up a sign."

Alas, I'm only interested in Robin Trower for now. Actually easier to play than surf music; go figure!

Very cool! I love Trower.

I have an old '90s vid of him explaining his tone and he ran a fender Dual Showman Reverb and a Marshall JCM800 or SuperLead...he didn't say what the volume knob setting was but zooming in both were in the "Holy Shit!!" range.  It's no wonder he is deaf.  I think he has gone to modern Marshalls now.

BTW  - have a Fender Dual Showman Reverb Head for sale if you want!! (Red knob, like Trower's)

When I last saw that thing it was alive!

But no, I have a '67 Showman head in good shape. For bass. Also guitar.

I'm thinking of getting some EL84s for my amp. I also scratch built one of these.

Quilter thinks they have solved the great mystery: how to get rid of tubes in guitar amps.

Cool, but I kind of doubt it. I still don't hear anything that sounds like a dimed plexi except the actual article.

Note that I am not an advocate for tubes in anything else. Just seems to work for electric guitar and mainly in the power section.

I dunno, I kinda like them in stereo amps too.

In fact, I just kinda like them in general.

Pair of VTA M-125 monoblocks.

edit:  ya think the little green led thingy might be a bit redundant
