Back in the 80's there was a band called Jerry's Kids that played here and in the Outer Banks of NC. Their big hit was "Take my wave, I'll break your face."
One lyric said,
"We'll share the women.
We'll share the wine.
But you take my wave,
then I'll break your spine."

Hmmmm.

The reverb is supposed to represent the water according to Dick Dale. Probably the first (or very early) user of heavy Fender reverb. Before it was in the amps it came in a box.

Dale surfed and Jim Thomas still surfs.

The Mermen have been around for a long time, some good live shows can be found on archive.org a great music library full of bands that encourage the taping of their shows (GD, Ratdog, Phish, Drive by Truckers, Dubconcious, Derek Trucks band...the list goes on and on....) ........... Archive.org has a great public music vault.
