My brother and I used to go to fiddlers conventions in the Carolinas and virginia to flat pick guitar, early 70's.
With long hair and surfboards, we were like Martians. But we could actually play, so it was semi-ok. I met, and worked with merle. Okay guy Check out "white line fever" by the burrito brothers, great merle cover. Jerry Garcia had a great bluegrass band called "old and in the way" with david grisman on mandolin. Opening act was doc and merle watson. With earl scruggs....one of the best shows I've seen That's country music folks..... not some whiny cowboy. Or the pathetic "hick hop"......... ------------------------- spindrift Edited: 10/08/2019 at 07:04 PM by spindrift |

I wonder if you could find any footage of that.
