Looking for a nice easy place to take my girlfriend and possibly dogs on our SUPs. She's a newbie and it'll be the first time with the new dog (if she goes) on a board.

Any suggestions would be much appreciated.

Ramp road cocoa beach....go to the far right for a low kayak dock. Cool canals and mangrove tunnels. Wind effect depends on which canal you choose.... paddle up wind in the beginning and take the easy downwind on the way home..

Honest John's is really cool

New smyrna...could go around to beachside and put in down at JB's fish camp. Around the island just to the west of JB's is big sandbar. Decent areas around there to paddle where you can hug the shore if its windy. You could put in on south causeway on the east side. paddle the creeks back there. You could put in at the public boat ramp on north causeway, take the back canal east to the big sandbar on the north side of the Big bridge. Also up where US 1 goes to port orange at the bridges there and paddle those creeks. lots of oysters there so be careful.

JB's is a great place, classic old Florida as is Honest Johns on the beachside just south of Floridiana Beach

little south of NSB but super easy to put in and plenty of parking. lots of places to get out of the wind (if you need to). check the tides before you go so you're not fighting that and the wind.

If you go about a mile past JB's (going south), you are at the Canaveral National Seashore. It costs something to get in, but it is beautiful. Lots of places to put in a SUP on the river.
