I am on the side of law enforcement more often than not in these situations, but in this case, I absolutely believe if he had been a white dude ...he would still be alive.

but even beyond that it's uncomfortable for the NRA establishment to risk an appearance of being against the police.

You don't have to be against the police to be against a police officer doing the wrong thing and costing a person their life.

From the limited videos I've seen on the news, I can't understand how the police officer got off either, but then again I wasn't on the jury and didn't hear and see all of the evidence. I do however believe that our system is one of the better ones out there so I'm not going to Monday morning QB every case that I may not agree with.

The point that, overall, the trigger finger is faster if you are brown is the takeaway IMO.

It's an uncomfortable fact, but true none the less.

Has the Jury composition and vote been published?
I think it took a unanimous vote on each count to convict.

Bump.

No one cares if a law-abiding black CCW is killed.

That is a damn fact.

The family of Philando Castile, who was shot and killed last year by a St. Anthony, Minnesota police officer, has reached a $3 million settlement with the city, according to a statement from the city and lawyers for the family.

Jeronimo Yanez, who is leaving the force, was acquitted June 16 of second-degree manslaughter and two counts of intentional discharge of a firearm that endangers safety. Castile was killed July 6 during a traffic stop, and his girlfriend streamed the shooting's aftermath on Facebook Live.

"The death of Philando Castile is a tragedy for his family and for our community," the statement said. "The parties moved expeditiously to resolve potential civil claims resulting from this tragedy in order to allow the process of healing to move forward for the Castile family, for the people of St. Anthony Village, and for all those impacted by the death of Philando Castile throughout the United States."

Reading that gives me the feeling they are between a rock and a hard place.

I'd join the BLMRA.
