What would be the proper way for someone to discuss race in the 1960s and modern portrayal of that era?

Gil scott heron was considered by most, including the black community at the time, to be a laughable c-list fool.
This was at a time when dr king and robert kennedy had just been murdered. Malcolm x had recently been killed by his own people. James Brown, marvin gaye, stevie wonder, wes montgomery, aretha, richie havens, jimi hendrix, and many others were producing incredible work. And had plenty to say about how blacks were being treated, progblow dumfuk. Pigblo and his elk are knee jerk chumpfscum racists. These are the same bunch of goons flipping out over the fact that the movie didnt show a flag being planted on the moon. Please note that at no point do the goons that promote this altbot chumpaganda express any admiration for neil armstrong, his crew members, the incredible design and fabrication teams at nasa and our amazing aerospace industries. And all the work done previously, here and all over our wonderful america, to bring this incredible project to fruition. God bless our brave astronauts. And our incredible scientists, engineers, techs, and launch services workers who have made our aerospace programs the best in the world. America has always been great. Fuck you lying agitprop bot trolling chumpfdirt traitors ------------------------- It's a democratic hoax |

Hey Trumpablo, see if you can guess my alias on the Realclear reply section.
Hidden Figures did a decent job of telling a more complete story, not that any racist Trump fans watched it. lol ------------------------- I was right. |

What would be the proper way for someone to discuss race in the 1960s and modern portrayal of that era? I find it amusing that this is the first place you choose to go. If your question was actually meant to be something more than an implication, it would be a stupid one because their are literally examples everywhere. Check out Spike Lee's latest film ffs. |

Great non-answer. Looking for an articulated opinion or maybe even a specific critique of the opinion piece linked in the opening post. The klan as tackled by Mr. Lee's film is one topic to discuss. The broader culture in 1969 and today is another. Should we pretend that everything was sweetness and light then and now except for Stormfront and the klan chanting blood and soil as they march through towns with their torches?

Oh you want me to spend time giving you a critique of everything I found wrong with the article, how it was written, the tone, and the absurdity of a few things. I don't have time for that today, so carry on with your stupid implications and silly assertions. Like I said, if you want examples of how to approach the subject, you were given one example of thousands. This article was not one of them.

Nothing new here. You wacky extremists have a hard time with op-ed pieces, you really do. You either take opinion pieces as fact when it's touting your views or you consider it the view of all of the "opposition" when you oppose it. Typical tired and triggered nut job fanatical behavior. It's quite predictable.

Ya, things were not quite right back then, or perhaps even now but, , , , just how far must anyone go to cater to such a small segment of the populace?
it is not "white superiority", it is "western civilization superiority". It is only a coincidence that the "winners" were "white". ------------------------- Dora Hates You Edited: 10/12/2018 at 06:51 AM by dingpatch |

"What do you mean 'we', white man?"
In context of where he wrote it ....so many things wrong with that response. |

Ah, the "white man" triggered you. Nope. Didn't bother quoting the rest of your post because you your assertion and implication is once again wrong from the first sentence. Let me know when you are done playing silly games. |

American Stinker Doesn't Like Spike
Damnit.
The Hill commentary on Spike is perhaps the most scathing and sounds the most like Mike.
