Because they do not have the political courage to stand up to him, confront his cancerous lies or withstand the scrutiny from their echo chambers. But they want Mueller to end the Trump era for them because they can't do it themselves. The reality is that if trump were impeached by the house and tried in the senate, each senator would have to make the decision on the facts. It would be the kind of decision that would be accountable to everyone, not just the people in their party. I think Mueller's report will start this process and America will be better for it.
