It's used to steer political discourse and shape false perceptions. Immigration became the most discussed issue beginning in 2016, following a decade long trend of declining immigration and increased enforcement, because of their work.
You think it was all Facebook? You don't think it has anything to do with the fact that 13% of our prison population is here illegally? What about the thousands murdered by illegals or the tens of thousands that are sexually assaulted by them each year?
I don't understand how you can know anyone who was murdered or assaulted by an illegal alien without thinking to yourself that it didn't have to happen and could have totally been prevented if our country had only enforced its own laws and border.
I think it is a hot button issue that is blown out of proportion. Obviously a certain percentage of people who come illegally will.commit crimes, some violent. American citizens also commit lots of crimes, some violent. The position that we should strengthen border is reasonable certainly, but how? Our border is huge. The constant memes on Facebook etc with scary pictures of immigrants and stories of them killing attractive younger white girls while in the individual instance may or may not be true depending on case, they are disingenuous over simplifications of a complex issue designed to rile the base and/or sow division within our country depending on if it is cynical political operatives or foreign operatives doing the creation and spreading.
