Obama has said some things I agree with, but when he implied at a European town hall this past week that the progressive left is at risk of creating a circular firing squad I couldn't have agreed more. Only I wouldn't call it a risk. It is clearly an actuality already. It's going to be fun watching the 2020 candidates systematically take down any suspected moderate leaning contenders one by one. This is an edge you can be sure Trump will leverage. Just an observation.

It's up to the voters.

...and how many more, 'my dad was born in Germany,' and, 'wind causes cancer,' till the American public wakes up and sees that there is a real issue with the Orange Bloviator? Can a regular Republican candidate even exist in Trump Land? Doubtful.

He had zero change in the polls after he was 'cleared' by Mueller. People are beginning to listen.

Disagree. That idiot is wrong as usual. The problem that flock of dem candidates have is that they are all idiots and offering proposals that the majority of Americans do not want. Sniping at each other is expected and isn't a big deal.

Oh no! The Dems have peccadilloes! I heard that Kamala yelled at her step kids once... and did you know? that guy Sanders hasn't released his taxes!

We know your average GOP dope doesn't worry about morals or intelligence. Shoot Roy Moore the pedophile almost won as a prideful representative of the Gross Old Party.

Rest assured whoever the Dems nominate will be nowhere near the outhouse fire the Twitler is.

Did you hear? The guy who climbs on tables said Netanyahu was a racist too. That should get the millenarian enangangelists upset.

If Trump cheats on his wife or Kamala got into politics by banging her married boss or if Bernie cheated on his taxes, it doesn't really matter. That is all tabloid shit. None if it determines whether or not unemployment stays under 4% or whether or not our economic engine stays strong. Even if you find an altar boy out there somewhere with a record cleaner than Mother Theresa's, that doesn't mean he knows what the F he is doing. Bottom line is that Bernie has no shot in the general because his policies break the country.

Yet somehow, magically, much of the world has implemented social democratic reforms and benefited from them.

The USA has gone from a place where anything is possible to a place where tested systems are largely dismissed as impossible.

The place is crumbling under the weight of it's hubris.

Just curious, which socialist leader, or leaders, do you admire the most?

Bernie? He's an a$$. But in this topsy turvey world where a misogynist bro bro of Putin's can get just enough votes of old people and racists so that the electoral college can tip his way, who is to say who is un-electable.

That a low unemployment rate would keep this aging before our eyes, tweeting, crappy reality show, joke of a man in the Oval Office shows a rather dim view of Americans.

I'm a fan of Peter Kropotkin, I'd recommend the bread book to everyone. He and Marx are both very interesting and way ahead of their time. They missed the mark on a few things, such the the capacity of liberal democracy to postpone the terminal consolidation under capitalism that creates the conditions for revolution.

Certainly "Memoirs of the Cuban Revolutionary War" is a must read, and Che especially was an internationalist. He could have lived out his days as a hero in Cuba, but instead gave his life in a Bolivian jungle because of his love for the poor. To catch a glimpse of his personal radicalization I recommend the Motorcycle Diaries.

If we're talking contemporary personalities, I'd go with Profession Richard Wolff. He's quite popular among not only the young Marxists but also us old less dogmatic anarcho-socialists.
