Shouldn't you be outside telling at some kids to get off your lawn?

http://www.theatlantic.com/bus...-welfare-queen/282452/ I think it should be obvious that someone that needs assistance would spend less than someone that does not. |

And yet the myth persists of the poor people who live beyond their means and deserve their poverty. ------------------------- Capitalism is based on the ridiculous notion that you can enjoy limitless growth in a closed, finite system. No rusty. I waste food, let it go bad in the fridge. I spend to much eating out. I do not spend enough time budgeting my money.

http://www.theatlantic.com/bus...-welfare-queen/282452/ I think it should be obvious that someone that needs assistance would spend less than someone that does not. I'm not saying that anyone deserves poverty. Being poor is more of a state of mind than anything else. When I was making less than $35k per year, I was still happy and optimistic about where life was going. The fact that someone doesn't make a ton of money doesn't automatically make them "poor". If someone is living within their means, happy, and meeting their basic needs, then they aren't poor. If you don't make much money, insist on having the latest-greatest tech gadgets, drive a car you can't afford and have a 10-year loan on, and have 12 maxed out credit cards, then your ass is poor and it is your fault. It isn't any of my business how anyone spends their money, as long as those people who are living beyond their means promise not to make it my problem 20-30 years down the road when they don't have shit in the bank but still want to retire. ------------------------- "The government who robs Peter to pay Paul can always depend on the support of Paul," - George Bernard Shaw “Don’t underestimate Joe’s ability to f—k things up.” - Barack Obama “End of quote. Repeat the line.” - wise words from Joe Biden |

Can't save what you don't have. And unfortunately, for the 40% of Americans who are one check from poverty, saving isn't really an option.
Sure, we can go out and find examples of people who could have saved and didn't, but to use them as an excuse to look the other way while public safety nets are dismantled by the elites is a mistake. ------------------------- Capitalism is based on the ridiculous notion that you can enjoy limitless growth in a closed, finite system. : "I think there are two big reasons why this country is so great. The first is our Constitution, which guarantees our freedom of speech and expression. The second is our free-market system. ... It pains me to see people in this country glorifying socialism. Young people especially have been indoctrinated into believing that free enterprise is immoral because it enriches the greedy and depresses the poor." - Home Depot co-founder Bernie Marcus

Clueless spankit (physical age unknown, mental age: MAGA) and Bernie Marcus (born n 1929) should speak to a young person. I bet they both cower in fear when they see one.

spankit quotes a guy that's 90 about young people. golly willikers those young people shake their hips in an unconstitutional manner by cracky!
Yeah Bill Gates and Jeff Bezos are frightening. Whoa! Riddleme agreed. What these aged GOP loons don't understand is that young people know they live and work in a capitalist economy and that is fine with them. It's the greed and the rigging of the rules in favor of the haves that is $hit. |

Yes...you are a SERIOUS idiot! ------------------------- The REAL truth is....both of the forum idiots are OWNED. -BOTH of them have no clue who their owner is. -They are both card carrying narcissists. ^These are PROVED facts. |

What's the Republican opinion on pensions? ..or solid living wages thanks to unions? Wal Mart, $8 something an hour. Amazon, the same. Fast food, minimum wage. Like Rusty said, if you think it's a level playing field you are foolishly mistaken. The working poor are here, you Republican types should be rejoicing. And FK, idiot, I won't get back anything near what I have given, unless I live to 100. Cole has become a full on liar lately. Walmart minimum wage - $11. Amazon minimum wage - $15. Fast food workers' median hourly rate is around $10. Remember, folks, progs lie about everything. My bad, I'm living slightly in the past and these changes are recent. But wait, you mean the increase in wages isn't blowing the country apart? Do tell! ------------------------- I was right. |
