More transparency

"White House says it will not provide details on individual security clearances to House panel"

As Kushner has secured more than $1B in loans since becoming president.

See, that is one of the downsides to pushing the investigation of a hoax like Russian collusion. Trump doesn't need to do crap now. All normal people assume that any other investigation is also a hoax. And, of course, they'd be correct. Sure, the insane and fools out there will get all riled up. But they won't vote for Trump in any case. So, Trump has nothing to lose by taking on these misfits. He probably gains by doing it. Get used to sleeping in the bed that you made.

"As we stated in our meeting of March 5 and reiterated to the Department early in the afternoon of March 24, the introductions and executive summaries of our two-volume report accurately summarize this Office's work and conclusions. The summary letter the Department sent to Congress and released to the public late in the afternoon of March 24 did not fully capture the context, nature, and substance of this Office's work and conclusions. We communicated that concern to the Department on the morning of March 25. There is new public confusion about critical aspects of the results of our investigation. This threatens to undermine a central purpose for which the Department appointed the Special Counsel: to assure full public confidence in the outcome of the investigations."

When a former White House official was asked questions about the security clearances of Ivanka Trump and Jared Kushner during a closed-door meeting Wednesday with members of Congress, a White House attorney reportedly "shut down" this line questioning.

This after allegations that Qatar was punished after refusing loans to Kushner, after Kushner has obtained over $1B in loans since November 2016.

Obama administration
On June 20, 2012, President Barack Obama asserted executive privilege in order to withhold certain Department of Justice documents related to the Operation Fast and Furious controversy ahead of a United States House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform vote to hold Attorney General Eric Holder in contempt of Congress for refusing to produce the documents.[27][28] Later the same day, the House Committee voted 23 - 17 along party lines to hold Holder in contempt of Congress over not releasing the documents.[29]
Executive privilege was also used in a lawsuit stemming from the 2012 implementation of the "Net Worth Sweep" against Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac. The Obama administration did not disclose roughly 11,000 documents from the plaintiffs in the discovery process as they related to the reasoning behind the 2012 actions.[citation needed]
House investigation of the SEC Leaders of the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) testified on February 4, 2009 before the United States House Committee on Financial Services subcommittee. The subject of the hearings was why the SEC had failed to act when Harry Markopolos, a private fraud investigator from Boston, alerted the SEC, detailing his persistent and unsuccessful efforts to get the SEC to investigate Bernard Madoff beginning in 1999.[30] One official claimed executive privilege in declining to answer some questions.[31][32]

JUST IN: The White House will instruct former White House counsel Donald McGahn not to comply with a subpoena from House Democrats for documents related to the Mueller investigation, according to press secretary Sarah Sanders

Mueller concluded that "Substantial evidence indicates that in repeatedly urging McGahn to dispute that he was ordered to have the Special Counsel terminated, the President acted for the purpose of influencing McGahn's account in order to deflect or prevent further scrutiny of the President's conduct towards the investigation."

Democrats could move to hold McGahn in contempt of Congress in response to their subpoena for information and his testimony. They are already preparing to hold Attorney General Barr in contempt of Congress over refusing to provide lawmakers greater access to an unredacted version of the Mueller report.
