If you cared about States and their gun rights, then you surely will be interested in the president* taking away other state's rights... right?

Trump revokes California's authority to set auto emissions limits

President Donald Trump announced Wednesday that his administration is revoking California's authority to set its own stricter tailpipe emissions standards, days before a major UN summit on averting climate change disaster.

The move came after the state reached a deal with major automakers to produce more fuel-efficient cars for the US market, infuriating federal authorities who claimed the agreement violated anti-trust laws.

California's Governor Gavin Newsom has called the plan to undermine his state's power part of a longstanding "political vendetta" and has vowed to fight back in court.

Or this one:

California Ready To Take Trump To Court Over Car Pollution Waiver

The president argued that revoking the waiver would make cars cheaper and safer while making little difference in emissions and creating more jobs.

"This is simply inaccurate," Democratic Gov. Gavin Newsom retorted on Twitter, saying the looser standards Trump wants would cost consumers $400 billion and result in "320 billion more gallons of oil burned and spewed into our air."

He elaborated at Wednesday's press conference, accusing Trump of being in oil companies' pockets.

"It's about the oil industry, period," Newsom said. "It's not about the car manufacturers, not about consumers. ... It's not about our economy. It's about oil companies."

Car makers are also on board with California's standards, which landed four of the biggest brands in the industry in a public spat with Trump last month after they reached a voluntary agreement with California on fuel efficiency rules.

Trump feels snubbed by California. All he ever really wanted was to be liked by the Hollywood elite, and all they did was laugh at him. Now he wants to get even however he can.

Sounds familiar.

He's a hateful ignorant rube that fell off the turnip truck with his daddy's name and $400M.

He won't accomplish anything but get the GOP more tainted with his stench.

Not their opinion on WOTUS either. They believe in federal supremacy if it stops a state from regulating in a way that they don't like. But they'll invoke states rights in a heartbeat if it is the case that the feds are blocking some conservative regulation that violates the 1st, 4th, 5th or any of the other Amendments in the Bill of Rights that conservatives like to violate with local/state governments when they get the power to do so.

Trump's base is used to living in schitt. At least they got their guns. It's all they have that can make them feel safe against made up boogie men.
