Hillary Clinton Claims Russians 'Grooming' Tulsi Gabbard as Third-Party Candidate

Former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton asserted that the Russians are attempting to undermine the 2020 election by backing Representative Tulsi Gabbard (D., Hawaii) as a third-party candidate, stating "she's the favorite of the Russians."

Appearing on Obama campaign manager David Plouffe's podcast, Clinton made a number of claims regarding Russian meddling in U.S. elections, including that Gabbard's substantial social-media support relies on Russian bots. Gabbard was the most-searched candidate after the first and second Democratic debates.

"I think they've got their eye on someone who's currently in the Democratic primary and are grooming her to be the third-party candidate," Clinton said on the podcast. "She's the favorite of the Russians. They have a bunch of sites and bots and other ways of supporting her so far."

Clinton's comments come after Gabbard called the coverage of her campaign by The New York Times and CNN "completely despicable" during the fourth Democratic debate Tuesday night.


"The New York Times and CNN have also smeared veterans like myself for calling to an end to this regime-change war," Gabbard told the crowd in Ohio. "Just two days ago, the New York Times put out an article saying I am a Russian asset and an Assad apologist and all these different smears. This morning, a CNN commentator said on national television that I'm an asset of Russia."

In August, Gabbard also told CNN that she would not run as a third-party candidate if she does not win the Democratic nomination.

Clinton also labelled Green Party candidate Jill Stein a "Russian asset" and suggested on the podcast that Gabbard is playing a similar role in this election.

"They know they can't win without a third-party candidate . . . I will guarantee you they will have a vigorous third-party challenge in the key states that they most needed," Clinton declared.

In the aftermath of Donald Trump's election, the Clinton campaign followed Jill Stein's demands for a recount in Wisconsin, which ultimately gave Trump 131 more votes.

"Because we had not uncovered any actionable evidence of hacking or outside attempts to alter the voting technology, we had not planned to exercise this option ourselves, but now that a recount has been initiated in Wisconsin, we intend to participate in order to ensure the process proceeds in a manner that is fair to all sides," campaign lawyer Marc Elias said at the time.

HC is as flawed now as she was in 2016. For some reason she was considered the queen of the Dems and the right to run was hers. Horrible decision on the Dems part as that is how we got the Cheeto Jesus. She still seems bitter about her loss even though she didn't put the sweat in to win. Gabbard's assessment of her seems to be pretty accurate.

Doesn't anyone remember way back in 2012 when Rocky Andersen and Jill Stein were hosted at a gala in Moscow? Or Russia Today hosting the third party debates? I haven't seen evidence that they are in cahoots with the Russians. They were looking to get some kind of amplification of their message since mainstream media and the right wing noise machine largely ignored them. But the Russians have been fanning the anti-government flames pretty hard since 2012, pushing the conspiracy theories helping to spread bullshit from the likes of Infowars and Natural News etc... To that end they have been painting the Democrats as the Deep State being in league with the UN/NWO. Notice how a majority of anti GMO and anti vaccine conspiracy theorists are now right wing MAGAs instead of pot heads hippies from central California. That has dove-tailed with the propaganda from the major corporate right wing groups like Heartland Institute, Heritage Foundation, American Petroleum Institute, etc... They did such a good job that not only did they unseat the Democrats, Trump ran as the white knight against "the government" and beat all the Republicans in the primary and got the blue collar folks to support him. What is strange to me is how none of them seem to notice who he has appointed to run his cabinet.

Talk about money in politics. McConnel thinks mo money is mo bettah no matter where it originates. Thinks it is fine for a major multinational corporation to spend unlimited amounts on a campaign because collectively consumers spend more on "bubble gum" than on elections. Thinks it is fine for a California or Nevada company to come into Florida and spend money on state legislature seats. So yeah, if corporation X that has operations in dozens of countries and world wide sales wants to spend 2 million dollars on a congressional race in a state where it needs something that is fine. The people in that district could just pool their resources. I personally think that a company as big as the major energy companies, Apple, Amazon, Microsoft, etc... should be regarded as foreign countries in themselves. They have zero interest in this country beyond selling products here and spending government military budget to protect their assets, supply chains, manufacturing centers, and markets abroad. We are getting to a point where they have more money than most countries and are getting powerful enough where they can make their own laws. They have a vested interest in breaking up major alliances like the EU because they can control individual small countries. Look at how the EU stands up to the tech companies. They don't like that.
