It looks like Parnas feels like Uriah for our biblical scholars. He's sitting in his condo on house arrest wondering how to testify, what records to admit to and when to invoke his 5th amendment right to remain silent about the pro Russian Ukrainian oligarch that funneled hundreds of thousands of dollars to him to oust the American Ukraine ambassador. Then he's got to navigate the seized computers, bank records and all those conversations with Rudy. But here's the part that is going to really hurt the GOP. If he invokes his 5th amendment right, we get very little. The solution to this would be to grant him immunity. The grant of immunity must have 2/3 votes of congress. The votes have been very strictly along party lines. This guy has the goods very specifically on Mayor Rudy, the campaign against yovanovitch and the money that went to sessions that started her ouster. There will also be some light shed on the "expertise" David Nunes top staffer provided trump despite his utter and complete lack of expertise on the subject. (http://www.google.com/amp/s/ww...kraine-expert-061763) So does the GOP grant Parnas immunity to seek the truth and overcome his 5th amendment privilege or do they vote against that to circle wagons, protect their president and avoid the truth with the assumption that it's got to be very bad? Keep I'm mind that Parnas May get that immunity later in his criminal prosecution and these facts will all eventually come to light despite the later timing. The GOP must make be wondering what to do with this considering they have all been in lock step denial up to this point. ------------------------- "One of the reasons why propaganda tries to get you to hate government is because it's the one existing institution in which people can participate to some extent and constrain tyrannical unaccountable power." Off topic, but I wonder if that's who owned that badass yacht that was docked in PB for a long time. Everybody said it was some rich Russian dude..... ...back to your regularly scheduled bickering... ------------------------- Specializing in sarcasm and condescending rhetoric since 1971. |
