Orlando-Auckland as low as $1207 in early August. That's late winter for them. Auckland is warm enough for bromeliads and a fair number of palms. Raglan, roughly the same. New Plymouth, a great surfing region, a bit cooler. Dunedin would be cold. Worth checking United, and if ANZ is having a sale, check prices to Australia. |

When I was surfing Juno pier in December, the head of surf New Zealand was there with his son pushing him into waves. He was telling me about all of the great spots around Auckland. If you go, he would love to have anyone look him up. He's a great guy. I think surf New Zealand is on facebook. |

That's as bad as finding a former Cape Town couple living locally. I've been to NZ twice. First visit had two nights at Piha. Had a great time but my wetsuit had a zipper failure. Second visit, schedule had to be rearranged due to a knee failure. Could barely walk at New Plymouth, so had to watch a perfect morning. It was recovered enough for some nice swimming at Raglan. Never travel without fins. Surf New Zealand looks inactive on Facebook, but there is a surf tour company. Actually, there's several around the country, which has lots of beaches and expensive gas, so it makes good sense to travel with friends or a tour.
